The last 3 years - a r5/riker lynch fanfiction

Finally fitting into place

Three years later

"Chocolate Creme frapachino for Jess." I grabbed my drink and went to sit next to becca.
"Hey babs I missed you," she said as she got up to hug me. I hadn't seen her for about 3 months, which is a lot for us. Also considering in that time I'd left university, moved to London, had around 12 jobs interviews/ auditions, 5 of those which had been for various law firms, and broke up with my boyfriend(who I'd been with for a year).
"So have you had your results back yet?" Becca asked as we sat down.
"Yes and the head of the swan Union said that she was impressed with my levels so that's good," I replied in between sips of my drink.
" So, I have to ask how's everything been with Jo?" She asked nervously.
" Well we're obviously not 'best friends' all over again but I do see him now and again and we're still civil with each other you know?" I said glancing out the window.
"So how's work?" I said raising my eyebrows slightly. She just rolled her eyes and sighed.
Around 8 months ago Rebecca got a job as a secretary for one of the biggest clothing departments in London/ the South East. About 2 months into the job she started becoming 'friendly' with  one of the receptionist at the building just to find out a months later after flirting back and forth with him that he infact had a girlfriend and was Engaged.
"Well he got fired about a 2 months ago so that's that, and I'm quite relieved to be honest," she paused " any way this food is great, did you know r5 are coming to London in 2 days? Have you tried the toasted sandwiches?" She babbled hoping I wouldn't hear.
"Wow becks way to drop that in." I said rolling my eyes.
"What? I though you should know, he will be there after all... " she said waving two pieces of paper in front of her.
"What are those?" I asked wide eyed snatching them out of her hand.
" I may or may not have got us two vip tickets to the r5 concert." she said with a grin on her face,
" no way I can't go, I'm sorry no." I said sliding the tickets back to her,
"Come on Jess it will be fun," she pleaded, " I mean the last time we talked you said yourself it meant nothing 'only a holiday romance' " she insisted sliding the tickets back to me,
" I know but still..." My voice trailed off as I thought about everything.
Over the past 3 years me and Riker just kind of stopped talking I mean the first few months we talked for hours on end texts, constant snapchat, calls, face times. But it just sort of started to stop, there was no time to face time or send weird pictures on snapchat we still texted up until new year and if I looked at his contact on my messages the last message was from 00:05 on January 1st 2013 (I met him July 2012) and it read 'happy new year babe missing you like crazyyyyy xxxxx' but even though after that I'd left him about 5 calls, voicemails and texts I guess I still missed him. I mean thinking back on it I never really felt something with Jo but with Riker, well that was a different story...
I mean it wouldn't hurt to see him on more time, would it?
"Okay but just the concert or vip or whatever then we'll go okay?" I said with anxiety in my voice.
"Yay, but anyway I need to ask you a favour?" she asked biting her lip,
"Yes?" I replied frowning slightly
"You know you text me a month back that Kelsey moved back home? Well I was wondering if you still had the room spare?" She asked.
"Um, yeah of corse why?" I asked her curiously,
"Well I kinda need a place seen as I can't really keep driving to work and back I mean of course
I would pay the rent and everything," she paused "but would that be okay?"
"Of course." I smiled, everything finally seems to be fitting in to place.

A/n so this is the first fanfic I've written I know this chapter wasn't much at all but it just kind of introduces everything that's happened three years on. It would be good if you guys could give me some feedback or something but thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy it☺️-e xx
