What are we?

  ...CHRISTOPHER...

We continued to watch the movie in silence for a while until I felt her turn and stare at me.

"What are we Chris?" she said looking at me with soft eyes, yet seeing right through me. "I mean we've been dating or hanging out, whatever you want to call it for over a month."

I just stared at her.

"you've been stringing me along and I'm not sure if I'm yours or if we're just friends. People ask and I'm not sure what to tell them and..." she kept rambling on and on, getting all worked up. It was definitely adorable. I understood what she was saying. People ask me about her too and I say she's mine; she's the only one who doesn't know it yet.

"I mean, if I'm wasting my time, let me know now because...I just can't keep doing this."

I knew what I wanted to say, but I just couldn't figure out how. She stared at me waiting for me to say something, but I didn't. I don't know why, but I felt frozen.

"Ok Christopher. I get it! I'll see you later. I'm going home." She said speaking fast and grabbing her stuff. I know she isn't about to walk back to her house. That will take her forever.

"no, don't leave, Raven!" I said trying to keep her from leaving.

"I need to. This situation isn't fair! You know how I feel about you, but apparently the feelings aren't mutual, and I can't take this." She was fighting back tears as she rushed to the door.

I feel the same way that she feels about me, but the feelings I have for her are just new to me. I've never felt such a connection with someone this fast, or at all. I'm scared, but I can't lose her.

I ran and jumped in front of the door before she could leave. I lightly grabbed her wrist.

"Raven" I said staring into her eyes, trying to read her.

"what—" I cut her off by grabbing the sides of her face into the palms of my hands and crushing my lips into hers. She seemed stunned for a moment, but kissed back once the shock passed. I've never felt such a spark with someone through touch, but I liked it, no I loved it. Our lips moved together perfectly. Hers were soft and fluffy like pillows. I sucked her bottom lip into my mouth and just savored it.

I pulled away from her slowly and gazed into her eyes. I grabbed her hands and held them to my lips to kiss them.

My heart had made it clear.

I wanted her, no, I needed her. I need to see her every day when I wake up. I need her smile to brighten up my day. I need to feel her touch, her kiss, her warmth. I need her to love Julissa, and I need her to love...me.

"That wasn't exactly the first kiss I was hoping to give you, it'll have to do I guess."

"you gave me Goosebumps." She said laughing and holding up her arm, which was definitely bumpy I discovered from lightly brushing them. "I'd say that was a good first kiss."

I leaned in and kissed her again, hugging her close to my body.

"do you still want to leave?" I asked once I had released her.

She shook her head no and I grabbed her hand to pull away from the door.

We cuddled back on the couch but this time I held her however I felt like it. The touch barrier has definitely been broken. I figured now was as good a time as any other to speak my mind...or should I say my heart.

"I believe God creates one of everything that is important: one body, one brain, one mind, one soul, and one heart. He also created one match that is better than the others. It's not perfect because nothing is perfect in life, but it's as close as it gets."

"I never thought of it that way, but why are you telling me this, Chris?" she asked and I laughed slightly. I guess she wasn't getting it.

"You're my match, Raven. The connection we have is undeniable, and I'd be a fool not to have you in my life."

"Well, good. I was really afraid that I was chilling in the friend zone."

"you are my friend. A very good friend at that, but you're also my girlfriend. Actually, scratch that; you're my queen."

"hmmm queen? I like the sound of that."

"good" I smiled and planted a kiss on her lips. Hopefully she'll really mean it, unlike Millisette.
