Opposites Attract

Chapter 1

"Check mate!" I yelled as I stood up from my chair raising my hand in the air.

"Good job Sam," Adrian congratulated. This was my first time beating Adrian in chess. He always beats me, but not this time.

"Finally!" I was now walking around my living room with my arms in the air. "All hail the new king if chess."

"Okay king, wanna go out for some ice-cream to celebrate your win?" Adrian asked.

"Let's go," I said. "You're paying." I followed Adrian to his car. We got into his black jeep and drove off to the ice-cream shop.

I was disappointed when we walked in because the captain of the football team, Chase was there. Luckily he was about to leave.

"Hey red," he teased. He called me red all the time, only because my hair is red.

"Very creative Chase," Adrian said. "Call him red because he has red hair, where did you get your originality? The bottom of your cereal box?"

"That made no sense," Chase replied.

"Yes it did, you're just too stupid to understand it." With that we walked past him and walked up to order.

"One scoop of vanilla and one separate scoop of mint chocolate chip," Adrian told the lady taking our order.

"In cones or cups?" She asked.

"The vanilla in a cone and the mint in a cup," he told her.

"They'll be out in a minute," she said smiling. We walked to the side and waited for our ice-cream. As the woman said it came out in a minute. I grabbed my mint ice-cream and Adrian took his vanilla.

"Let's go back to my place," I said walking out the door. Adrian following behind.

"I'll drive," I said realizing that Adrian had an ice-cream cone. We got into the car and I started driving back to my house.

Once we got there, I took my keys out of my pocket and unlocked the door. I opened it and walked in with Adrian behind me.

"I'm gonna clean up before my mom comes home," I said grabbing the chess pieces and putting them away. Adrian helped put everything away. "Thanks."

"No problem," he said planting a small kiss on my cheek. "I'd do anything to help."

A bit after we finished cleaning up my mom came home.

"Hey boys," she said cheerfully.

"Hi mom," I said getting up of the couch and giving her a hug. I sat back on the couch beside Adrian and I put my arm on the head rest behind his head.

We watched TV for an hour before Adrian had to go.

"It's getting late Sam, I should go," he said planting a kiss on my lips.

"See you tomorrow," I said walking him out the door.

+This is my new story I hope you all liked it. I honestly don't understand the joke about the cereal box my sister came up with it. She said that it's because there's  a surprise at the bottom of a cereal box and Chase's comment was a sarcastic surprise.
