I was sitting with Adrian at lunch. We were eating our lunch peacefully until Chase decided to crash at our table.

"Remember, meet me at the bike racks after school," he said placing his tray of mashed potatoes and peas down on the table next to me.

"Ya I know," I replied scooting away from him slightly so he wouldn't notice.

"Kay," he said getting up and bringing his tray to the table with all the foot ball kids.

"What did he want?" Adrian asked me.

"We're partners for the new art project."

"Oh," he said continuing to eat his slice of pepperoni pizza.

We finished our lunches in mostly silence, with the occasional small talk.

_______

After school, I packed everything I needed into my bag and left what I didn't need in my locker. I met Adrian at his locker and we walked outside to the bike racks, where Chase wanted to meet up with me, but he wasn't there. I was sure that he was going to be there, so I decided to wait for a bit.

When he finally got here I was relieved because I didn't feel like waiting any longer.

"What took you so long?" I asked.

"I had to get the blocks from Mr. Kari," he replied. "So you're coming to my house and we're going to work on this project." I looked over at Adrian, he nodded, smiled, then walked off to his car.

"Okay." We walked to his car and got in.

When we got to his house, I awkwardly walked out of his car and followed behind him like a lost puppy. He opened the door and I was greeted by the delicious aroma of cookies.

"My grandma baked cookies, you can have some," he said walking into kitchen to grab a cookie off the plate. I awkwardly walked behind him and I grabbed one for myself.

"Thanks," I quietly mumbled in reply.

"Let's head up to my room to start working," he said walking down the hallway to a small door on the right hand side. He opened it and walked in. I was following him somewhat closely behind as if I was going to get lost.

I was amazed at the huge bookshelf he had in the left corner of his room. I slowly walked over to it, not realizing that I had.

"Like the books?" he said letting out a small chuckle. I was mesmerized by the number of books he had. He also had many books that I've been wanting to read. "Red!" he yelled, snapping me out of my daze.

"What?" I asked.

"Let's get to work," he said pointing at the pile of wood pieces he had dumped on the ground.

I I walked over to where he was and sat down across from him. We placed the pieces in the right order, forming a zebra. He grabbed paints from the storage closet that was across the hall from his room. He grabbed a purple, a yellow, a white a black and a red. He also grabbed two pallets that were dirtied with dry paint from previous painting jobs and a couple brushes.

"Here," He said handing me a pallet, three brushes and my purple paint. He sat back down across from me and put the black and white paints of to the side keeping the yellow and red in front of him with his own three brushes.

"We should split them, like I do one then you do the one right beside it," I suggested.

"Ya, that sounds like a good plan," he said.

I grabbed the first piece and he grabbed the second. I put some purple paint in three spots on my pallet. I reached over and grabbed the black and white paint. I squirted a little bit of black onto one of the piles of purple paint and mixed it until I was satisfied with the color I had. I squirted a bit of white on one of the other two piles of purple and mixed it until I was pleased with that color. Chase mixed his colors together, he had a light orange, a yellow and a dark yellow. We carefully painted the first block and set it off to the side so it can dry. We each painted a second one and set it to the side to dry.

"You wanna get some food?" Chase asked me.

"Sure," I replied. He got up and I followed behind. We walked into the kitchen and Chase grabbed a frozen pizza out of the freezer. He put it in the oven and set the timer. Now we had twenty minutes until the pizza was ready. Chase walked over to the living room with me following behind. He sat down on the couch and turned the TV on. "The Big Bang Theory" was on and Chase decided to leave it on. 3/4 of the way through the show, the timer for the pizza went off. Chase got up and took the pizza out of the oven and put it on the coffee table in front of the couch on a large solid metal pan which was resting on two hot plates. I decided to wait a bit until I take my piece so that it could cool off.

I know it's bad, but I still need to add chapters. If I could I'd jump right to the end because I kinda want to finish writing this book. Thanks for reading! Vote, Share and Comment.
