Chapter 5: The Reason

I got home at around 10. Jack dropped me off at my house then left to go to his house. He didn't even walk me to the door. I don't blame him. After we met Butch he looked like he had seen his dead grandmother walking through his door. He was scared out of his mind. I was like that the first time I met Butch. I thought that he was the most daring guy ever. I could say that he made a rebel of a careless mans careful daughter because it's true.

We began to date and my rebel side began to take over my whole good girl personality. I became a different person. My larents noticed it, my friends noticed it, even I noticed it but I didnt care very much. Everyone thought it was depression cause I lost my father and younger sister in a car crash when I was five and I tore myself up about it. I changed who I was to try and fit in with the people around me. I should've realized that I shouldn't change who I am just so I can fit in. I should just be myself because if people dont like you for being yourself, then you should be yourself even more. People are just missing out on the amazing person that you could become later on in life.

With Butch it was easy to get caught up in things cause he flaunted whatever he wanted. He wasnt afraid to do things. He was so daring and cunning and knew wjat he wanted in the world.

I think thats why what happened to me happened.

I heard a tap on the window. It was Jack. I let him in. He looked better than he did earlier. Less constipated.

We sat on my bed for a few awkward minutes. I checked the time. It was now 11:30. I got tired of the silence.

"Okay, you came over here for a reason. What was it?"

"Well, I was thinking about what you said to Butch about him dangling over a cliff and it got me thinking..."

"Wait, you overheard that conversation?"

"Yeah, I did."

"Dang it. I was hoping you didnt. "

"It's okay. Thats actually what I wanted to talk to you about."

"Well what do you want to know?"

"Uhm, well i dont think that you have always been so tough. I think that you changed when you began to date Butch."

"Correct."

"Well, will you tell me about the old you?"

"Sure. I was a top student in all of my classes. I was loved by everyone around me. I had a lot of friends and everyone appreciated me for who I was. Then when I began to date Butch. I started to change. I began to dress differently. I began to fall behind because I was skipping classes. I basically forgot who I was. That was until I met you."

He began to smile. Showing off those beautiful white teeth. His smile was very beautiful. "Wait, are you saying that I am the reason why you to change or that you've discovered who you want to be?"

"Both. You make me want to be a better person. I just have one question."

"What is it?"

"On your first day of school, why did you compliment me?"

"Because I could see that you weren't who you wanted people to see."

"Well thankyou for caring enough to see the real me. "

"Your welcome. Will I see you on Monday?"

"Yes, but I may look a little different."

"Oh yeah? Why is that?"

I could tell that he was flirting with me. "Because you have made me want to be the person I used to be. "

"The kind, gentle, smart one?"

"Yes that one."

"Good. Ill look forward to that."

I walked him to the door. I was just about to close the door when someone pushed it open. Jack picked me up in his arms and kissed me. Very passionately.
