Chapter 12:WWD

"We were in the middle of a turf war at the movies. It was between Butch and one of his old friends from middle school. He never said his name but I could hear him cursing under his breath when he heard the tire squeal. He wasn't the friendliest person from his attitude but Butch was very heroic. Something that I had never seen him do before. He tried to protect me from him. Which as you know me I really didn't like very much. It was a side of Butch that I had never seen before."

She wandered into thought after that. I had to interrupt her so she could finish telling her story.

"AJ... Hey AJ. Earth to AJ. Jade to AJ. Are you there AJ?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah, sorry."

"Can you continue please?"

"So we were sitting in Butch's car and this guy comes up to me and starts agonizing Butch and I. Finally, my anger got ahold of me and I punched the dude in the nose."

"And how did Butch respond to that?"

"He just said 'Remind me never to get on your bad side.' And kind of looked sorry for the guy."

"That's how Butch always reacts to a powerful woman. Trust me I would know."

"So anyways, I had landed the punch and the guy came right at me. Butch threw himself in front of me and took the punch for me. It was a stupid move on his part because you know how protective I can be of the people I care about. It basically became a turf war between me and the dude. I won the turf and he was pretty pissed off. We drove off ignoring the threats of the dude. The next thing I hear is a gunshot and we were spinning over the gravel. I was in the passenger's seat and as soon as Butch heard the gunshot, he opened the door and pushed me out. I saw the car spinning and the next thing I can remember is the lights as the medics put Butch in the ambulance we came here and I called you."

"AJ? Do you think that if I got my mom to bring her sketch artist you could describe him to her?"

"Yeah, I think so."

"Okay, I'll be right back."

"Hello, this is Officer West, how can I help you?"

"Hey mom."

"Jade, why are you calling me? I told you only to call if there was a problem."

"There is a problem, but it's not mine."

"Jade, what happened?"

"Butch was in an accident and AJ knows the guy who did it. If you could bring a sketch artist down to the hospital, we could..."

"Jade, you know I can't do that, I could get fired."

"But mom, if Butch doesn't make it, this guy could be a murderer. That and, this was an assignation attempt based on the details that I have. If anything, he could be tried for hitting a female right?"

"Jade, I have to run this by the captain... I'll see what I can do okay. Meanwhile, use your art skills to make the sketch then text it to me and I'll run this by the captain okay?"

"Okay, thanks mom. I owe you one."

"Add it to the list."

"Love you mom."

"Love you too baby."

I hung up the phone and walked back into the hospital room. I saw that Butch was awake and so I ran to give him a hug.

"Hey, Jade."

"Oh! I was so worried. How could you be so stupid? Putting my best friend in danger like that?" I asked slapping him upside his head.

"Ow! Watch it!"

"Don't make me do it again mister!"

So it turns out that my train of thought has crashed so I have no thoughts on what to do for the next chapter, however, I do know what I want to do for the ending of the book so I would say, be prepared for a sequel. YAY!!! Like and Comment on this chapter. Thanks. XOXO.~:(:
