Sweat

I lay drenched in sweat. My heart was beating a mile a minute. My breathing was ragged and shallow. My lungs were screaming for more air and my throat was rasping for water. My body was begging for release, to just let go for a moment. To surrender to sleep.

I turned my head and felt the dew on the grass tickle my cheek, instantly cooling that one little part. I laid their letting my body slow down, get back to a normal pace. I closed my eyes, letting the sun shine on my face as it peaked over the horizon. I could hear the soft sounds of breathing around me. I shifted my face and opened my eyes, and saw a few people getting to their feet. Just as drenched as me. Soon a hand hovered over me, I weakly lifted my arm up and placed my hand in his.

He pulled me to my feet and my sweat drenched shirt met his chest. My breath caught for a completely different reason than from before. I looked into his dark eyes and the sweat trailing down the side of his face. I wanted to wash it all away and yet, I liked it there. Slowly moving down his face and then his neck until it disappeared into his shirt. Joining the rest of the sweat that made the trip, the trip I wouldn't mind making right now.

"Are you okay?" He asked looking deep into my eyes. His hand finding my lower back. I felt myself move closer before a bark sounded. I stepped away as a cold nose was pressed into my palm. I bent down and gave Max a pet on the head.

"Sang can have first shower." Kota said and so we filed in. I went to the bathroom so that I could let my sore muscles relax for a moment. Once upon a time I was jealous I didn't get to participate in the work out. Now I know that it is hard, body breaking. I still am happy I was able to work with them, but I need to work more if I want to be able to keep up with them.
