Kayley's POV

I rip my arm out of his grip and glare at him. "You're dog's coming Connor," I mumble to him, turning around and sprinting further down the beach. I felt the soft sand against my feet as I ran to civilization. I finally saw the lights of the city as I got closer. I started to slow and eventually stopped, looking at the city in all its glory. I placed my hands on my knees and took a few minutes to catch my breath. Once I could breathe properly I walked into the city and looked for signs to tell me where I was. I walked around for a bit before finding a familiar sign. 'Ohio St ' it said. I smiled, I was about 5 minutes from home.

I jogged the rest of the way back home. I sighed as I looked up at my house. I wouldn't say it was a mansion but I wouldn't say it was a cottage. It was fairly big, big enough for my sister, my mum and I. I walked to the door and sighed again. Was I really ready to come back home? I thought to myself. I opened the door, making my decision. Thankfully no one was awake. I walked inside, closing the door behind me, and snuck into my room. As I was going up the stairs they creaked under my step and I cringed hoping no one would wake up. I got into my room just wanting to flop onto my bed but I couldn't do that. I went into my bathroom and cleaned myself up. I patched up all the cuts and bruises on my body before changing into my pyjamas. I flopped onto my bed almost instantly falling asleep.

I woke in the morning to a screaming mother. "Kay, where the hell have you been?! I was worried sick about you!" She yelled at me. "Shut the fuck up and piss off!" I yelled back at her. "Don't speak to me like that!" She growled at me, "now tell me where you were". I sat up on my bed and looked her dead in the eye. "Why do you need to know?" I asked in my iciest tone. "Because I'm your mother," she told me, looking aghast. "Wrong answer," I told her, walking up to my door and slamming it in her face. She started saying something about respect and responsibility but I just locked the door and turned on my music, not really caring about what she had to say. After a few more moments I heard her sigh and walk away.

Now that I was awake I had to do something. I strutted to my window and looked into the garage at my beautiful motorbike. She was amazing and shiny, thanks to myself. I opened my window, sitting on the sill. I looked at the trees in front of me, deciding that I wanted to leave this place. I leapt onto one of the trees, gripping onto it. I climbed down, using the branches as ladder rungs. Eventually I had to switch trees which I did quite gracefully I must say. I leapt onto another tree, climbing the rest of the way down. I ran into the garage, grabbed the keys and hopped onto my bike. I started it up and quickly sped off before mum came out.

I didn't know where to go so I just drove. After a while of driving I ended up at the gym. I parked my bike walking into the gym. I looked around. There wasn't that many people here surprisingly. "Hey! Caleb! Over here," I yelled to one of my best friend's. He turned and looked at me, a grin plastered on his face. He put down the weights he was using and jogged over to me. As soon as he was close enough he engulfed me in a bear hug. "Kay! I haven't seen you in forever," he squealed, his arms still wrapped around me. "Caleb... can't... breathe," I choked out. He instantly let go. "Sorry," he said in a singsong voice.

Suddenly he grabbed my arm and yanked me away. I shrieked. "What are you doing!?" I practically yelled, ripping my arm from his grip. "Come on," he pleaded, "I want you to meet someone". I sighed and let him drag me over to the treadmill's. Once we got there I looked at his friend, instantly freezing. "Kayley this is Connor, Connor this is Kayley," Caleb introduced us, completely oblivious to the tension surrounding us. Connor looked down at me and froze as well. I broke the tension by pulling a fake smile. "Nice to meet you," I said, sticking my hand out for him to shake it. He looked at me confused before I scowled at him. He shook out of his daze, quickly grabbing my hand and shaking it firmly. Electricity shot through my hand and I pulled away. What the fuck was that? I thought to myself, hopping onro a treadmill.

A familiar voice suddenly pierced the silence. "Babe, you're here!" Called Jayden, my boyfriend. All the emotions from before vanished as I hopped off the treadmill and ran to greet him. He pulled my into a bear hug, lifting me off the ground and swinging me around. I giggled and hugged him tighter. He put me down and gently grabbed my face, tilting my head so that I looked into his amazing blue eyes. His platinum blonde hair hung over his face as he looked down at me, I was quite short for a girl my age. He suddenly leant forward and our lips met. I responded instantly. My lips sizzled a bit but didn't have any electricity like when I touched Connor's hand. I wrapped my arms around his neck, forgetting about everything.

He, unfortunately, broke off the kiss, looking at me with a goofy smile on his face. I grinned and lightly punched his arm. He rubbed his arm where I hit him and looked at me in mock hurt. I scoffed at him but couldn't help a smile. "Hurry up, I need to continue my training or I'm gonna get fat," I whined, tugging on his arm. "You're not gonna get fat, just give me some time to get ready," he replied. "Fine, I will be working out by myself," I told him, talking a bit too loudly. "Hey, we're here," called out Caleb, pointing to himself and Connor. I grinned and ran over to them, hopping back on the treadmill and continuing my workout.

After about half an hour I got off the treadmill and went over to the weight lifting. Connor followed which I wasn't too happy about. "What are you doing Connor?" Asked Caleb, as Connor walked over to the weights with me. "Yeah Connor, what are you doing?" I asked, mimicking Caleb's voice. He glared at me but I swear I saw a hint of amusement flash through his eyes. "She needs someone to watch, just incase she gets in trouble," he responded and Caleb nodded. I continued towards the weights without speaking. Once I got there I put 35kg onto the bar and slid into the seat. I picked it up, lifted it over my chest and started doing a sets of reps. "What are you doing here?" Connor asked suddenly. "None of your business," I replied, knowing that he wouldn't stop still I answered. "Are you gonna go to Raven High?" He asked, watching my muscles as they bulged out of my shirt. "Yep," I replied, popping the 'p' as I pushed the bar up. "My turn. Why did you leave?' I suddenly asked. "I will tell you if you tell me why you came here," he told me. "Well I guess this conversation won't go any further, so just drop it," I said, hissing the last bit. Connor huffed before shutting up.

"Are we still friends?" Connor randomly asked after a long time of silence. My eyes widened for a fraction of a second before turning into a scowl. "Why would I be friends with the person who ditched me for no reason and who broke my heart?" I asked, venom dripping from every word. He flinched. "I have a perfectly good reason for leaving and you know it," he almost shouted at me. "Then tell me," I shouted back, catching curious glances from the people around us. "I can't," he replied after several moments. "Then there is your answer, I can't be friends with you," I told him before getting up and walking over to Jay and Caleb. Why does he want to be friend anyways? I asked myself. Who does he think he is?
