Chapter 18

Luke, Mr. Blackbourne, Silas, North, Nathan, and I spend the next sixty five years traveling across the united states. We stayed in every state and never denied a request from the Academy.

We were good at helping others, we enjoyed it even. Jessica grew up fast. When she turned eighteen we offered her a place in the Academy and in our family. She joined the Academy, but declined the offer to stay with us.

She had become bonded with an older woman in the Academy named Erica. She became a mother figure to us all, but Jessica most of all. I will always be grateful to Erica. Jessica didn't want to travel a lot and didn't want to leave Erica alone, so she decided to stay behind with her. We visit every few years and send letters a lot, she is happy and I couldn't ask for anything more. She told me in her last letter there is a boy in the Academy shelter that has caught her eye. I wrote back telling her that me and the guys will be meeting him, soon.

Mr. Blackbourne had suggested we make another move. We had been staying in California for about five years and we needed to get a move on before people started to notice we aren't aging.

While researching places to go, the Doc suggested Mississippi. When we asked what his reasoning was, he wanted to live in a state that had a bunch of letters in it.

I think Mr. Blackbourne almost rolled his eyes at Sean, but we had no reason to not go to Mississippi. So we packed our things and headed east... again.
