Maggie is still innocent, she's only eight she doesn't need to see what's going on down here. But I think it may now be too late for that, two days ago my parents were murdered in cold blood by the 'government' I don't know what she saw, but I know she saw some of it... She still doesn't know our parents or dead, at least I don't think... Maggie was born about eight years after my parents got down here, they always knew that they wanted two children, they just didn't know that they would be 'blessed' with two daughters. I always wanted a little baby to call my own, and take care of, and when she was born, I pretty much took over. To me, I was more like her mother for a while, I still do think that's how it is, especially now. My parents were never really around, I mean, they were, but once they realized that I was willing to care for Maggie, they kinda just let me take over. My childhood was pretty much taken away from me when I was seven when I saw a man shot in the head right outside our house, before that, I didn't really realize how corrupt everything is down here... I got really depressed, and I didn't know what I was doing. That's another reason they had Maggie a year later I don't want the same thing to happen to Maggie, as what happened to me, so I've taken it into my own hands to give her the childhood that I had whipped away from me. I want her to be creative, and happy, and smile. I don't know what I would do if she lost her beautiful smile...
I opened my eyes, my vision was very hazy, and my head was throbbing, my backpack was gone, and so was Maggie... I stood up very quickly, and my head started spinning.
"Maggie!!" I screamed, the streets were full again like nothing had happened.
"Please help me! They took my sister!" I screamed as loud as I could, no one even looked at me. People were pushing past me, and kept their heads down to the ground, just like I did, every single time I saw a person in trouble on these streets... I ran my hands through my hair, and started to cry. I lost her... I should've made her stronger, she can't survive on her own... I walked in the direction of my house with my arms crossed holding my stomach, I felt sick. I needed help. I passed Frank's pub, and the building was burning, I didn't even blink.. I let her get taken, and I didn't even care about what happened to Frank's pub... I walked up to my house, and put my head on the door, I didn't want to go in. Within two days this house became the place where four people lived, to where one shell lives. I pushed on the heavy door..
'I'm going to get somethings out of your dads office' a voice said. I turned my head to the old wooden door, and started to walk towards it. I push as hard as I could on the door to try to get it to open, but it wouldn't, I got a medal lamp, and started beating as hard and I could on the door.
"Come on." I said to my self.
The door started to crack, and my arm started to ache, but I pushed through the pain, and the door split just enough for me to unlock it from the other side. I had never been in my dads office before, it looked just the the base did at Frank's pub. There was a wall lined with tan filing cabinets, they were all locked, there were about five computers just sitting there in opened on a desk with labels on the top, three were labeled work, and two were labeled family. I went up to the one labeled family, and all it had on it were journal entries explaining how we were doing, at the end every single one had the line 'when my family and I get to the surface' followed by something that he wanted to happen, like, when my family and I get to the surface, we will eat dinner as the sun is setting, then go for a swim in fourth lake where I was born.
I closed out the papers, and started looking around again. There was nothing in the room. I pulled my hood back on, and went back out on the streets, there was an older women that was talking about selling something to a younger man. I walked over to them.
"E-excuse me?" I said she looked at me with a smile,
"Hi" her voice was quiet, but firm, she waved off the man, and reached her hand out towards me.
"It's not safe out here, come inside" I took her hand, and followed her in. Her house was very beautiful, with a painting of a man reaching up from earth, to what seemed like him trying to reach the surface of an ocean.
"That's beautiful" I said examining the painting
"Do you want it?" She asked. I should my head
"No I can't, it's yours.." She shrugged, and sat down in a chair, she pointed to a different chair, and I waved it off. She nodded.
"So, why have you come here? You know as well as I do that it's dangerous out here, and a young beautiful girl like you talking to strangers.." She paused
"There must be something wrong."
"It's my little sister, Maggie, that group that was in the streets knocked me out, and took her.."
She looked off into space.
"What we're these guys wielding?"
"Sticks and medal pipes... Why?"
"Please come here, quickly." She said in a very serious tone. I walked over.
"I can't help you, but I can tell you, you will find them in area 5701283... You better hurry, and get out of my house, never look back..." She pushed me away.
"Thank you..." I said, turning around, and running out of the house
"5701283, 5701283" I kept repeating the number over and over again.
The over whelming fear of possible losing Maggie rushed through my veins and pumped me with so much adrenaline that I felt like I was flying.
5700091
5701163
The numbers seemed to be flying by, I could see the end of the den, and began to cry, there was no such thing as room 5701283, the numbers ended at 1280... But it had to be there somewhere, I ran to the end of the path and looked along the dark, damp wall. There was a very tight path leading to a small light that had a death symbol on the door. My mind wasn't thinking straight and I pushed through the door with no struggle. On the other side, where numbers. 5701279.1, 5701279.2, and so on, i pushed my way down the narrow hall barely able to fit between the rusty medal slab finally reaching the end, where there was a door that had the number 5700182.9983
