Chapter 22: Time Flies and Friends Lie
Jake’s POV
“Everyone, please remain seated and facing front unless it is absolutely necessary. I mean it.”
The seat next to me was empty so I stuck my bag and guitar there. Matt and Liz are in front of me. Chad and Amber are behind me. Both couples are leaning on each other and falling asleep. And here I am without a girlfriend. Still.
At some point I’m going to have to tell her the way I feel but she can’t possibly see me as a boyfriend. She is too innocent.
I opened my bag and drug around for my phone. I know I just hung up with her but I want to talk to her. I sent Rikki a text. “Heyy.”
I put my phone in my lap and took my iPod out of my bag and started jamming out to some classic rock. I watched the trees fly past us as we zoomed down the highway.
