Clay's POV-------------------

I laid in my bed, unable to sleep. It was too hot for the covers so I had kicked them off, but it didn't feel right not having the warmth around me. I sighed sitting up in my bed. The clock on my side table said 1:22 am. I ran my hands through my hair, only a few hours until I could go back and see her. Visitors were aloud in at 11 but most nights I slept there.

My eyes flickered back to my side table as the clocked changed. Was this how tonight was going to go? Watching the clock change minute by minute? I sighed picking up the photo album off the end of my bed. Every summer seemed to get faster and faster so I was keeping a photo album this year. I opened it to the first page, there lied a photo of the eight of us on the trampoline in the backyard. We were all lying on our backs, my arm around Abby, as we watched the medior shower. My flash back quickly ended as I switched the page. After reading through it for a bit I realised it was only making it harder. I stood up stretching my back. For a minute I just stood, unsure of what to do.

I walked over quietly shutting my door and entered Abby's room. I was instantly calmed by the smell. Her smell. Vanilla. I walked over to her desk, there she had a few pictures laid out. There was one of us, we were making sundaes in the kitchen and I put chocoloate syrup on her nose. She also had the same one of us on the trampoline. There was the cartoon sketch we had done and there was one other, it was her and her parents. They all looked so happy. I turned to sit on her bed, I pulled the covers back and made myself comfortable. I used to think her bed was just the most comfortable place in the house, but maybe that was because I had her to talk to, and cuddle with.

"Clay! CLAY! Get up, put your shoes on!" I woke up, startled by Britney's frantic voice. I turned over to my phone, it was 4:03 am and I had a missed call... from the hospital. Oh my god, what happened? I don't think I ever got ready that fast. Within two minutes I was dressed, and in the car. When we arrived at the hospital I was out of the car once we entered the parking lot. I ran for the doors, skipping the elevator and going straight for her room. When I entered June and Tessa were both there. They both smiled as I turned to her bed. She was now sitting upright, completly awake, unhooked from her IVs, she looked 1000% better. I couldn't make sense of it, so I stood there with my jaw open.

"Clay?" She asked her voice shaking. That was it, I made the quick three steps to her bed, swooping her into a tight hug. Right there she started crying.

"No princess, don't cry" I told her sitting on the edge of her bed with her in my lap. The two girls sat there smilling at us. She sat, trembling, in my arms as I held her close. "Im so sorry, I'm never letting go of you again" I told her. She pulled back to look at me.

"Clay it's not your fault. Cody and I were just fooling around it's not your fault you couldn't grab me before I tripped" she said, innocently. For a minute I didn't say anything, I didn't know what to say. My mouth opened slightly but I couldn't form any words. I turned to look at Tessa but she looked just as confused as I did. "Where is Cody? I want to see him!" Abby said, standing up. She walked out the door followed by Tessa. June grabbed my hand pulling me along. Down at the end of the hall Cody tuned the corner. Abby instantly ran to him, hugging him as he lifted her up and twirled her around. I just stopped and sat down in the middle of the near-empty corridor. She was his now.
