Chapter 19:
Jamie's POV:
I stared at him, preparing myself for the worst. Hunter just shook his head. "Are sure your alright?" "Yes. I'm sure." With that he nodded and left me in silence. The door shut behind him. My first impulse was to open the door. But it wouldn't budge. He must have locked me in.
Hunter's POV:
I locked Jamie's bedroom door. Then stormed downstairs to find Derek. Sure enough there he was, beer in hand sitting on the fountains edge in the garden. "Derek!" He looked up with his evil smirk. "Yes brother?" "What do you think you were doing?" "I was just showing one of your slaves how she's meant to be treated. Your too soft on them Hunter." "I am not!" "Yes, you are." I glared down at him. "Stay away from Jamie, or else." "Or else what?" "You'll regret not doing as told." I answered firmly. He looked up in amusement. "You really think I'm afraid of you?" He started to chuckle. "You should be." He stopped laughing and looked me dead in the eye. Then he stood up and grabbed my shirt. "Listen hear Hunter! I'm the older brother, and I tell you what to do! If I want to play with your little Jamie then I will. Besides, whose gonna stop me?" I looked up with anger." I'm not as weak as I used to be you know?" He let go of my shirt and we glared a few more minutes before I simply turned on my heel and left. Anger rising in me. Stuck with my obnoxious brother again, great! I stormed in the house and up to the third floor. I stomped down the hall and stopped at Jamie's door. Then I turned, and simply went into the room between mine and Jamie's. This was meant to be my new library, I think once its finished, Jamie might enjoy this room. Some of the furniture was already inside. I'm might rearrange it soon though. Inside was three big cases for books, several boxes full of books, two tall tables with 4 matching tall chairs, a small radio, two mirrors for the wall, and an old cigar box that I've come to love. I looked around a moment, the room was pretty large, I'd saved this room for it's particular use. It was for not only me, but for a few of my slaves in particular. They may be slaves, but I believe that reading should be an option for them. That's why all of the books they can't read are in my private library. I specifically put in the south hallway of the third floor. No one is allowed there. It's full of secrets and useful objects for the "Mundus Supra Fidem". That's latin for "World Beyond Belief". The Mundus Supra Fidem is the world hidden from the human species. The world sort of hidden from humans. They know about many of the species in our world, but most of them don't believe we exist. Other species exist such as werewolves, mermaids, unicorns, witches, and so on. All of my closest friends are from the Mundus Supra Fidem. One of my best friends is a selkie.
Well anyway, this room is big, soon there will be more furniture and slaves be able to come up and read in spare time. Unfortunately, some of them don't know how. Maybe ones who can will teach them. Maybe. I looked around one last time before I stepped out of the room and started walking further down the hall. There was Jamie's door, clear as day, still locked. I took out my keys and went through them to try and find Jamie's. I came across hers. It was a rather odd key, it handle was much like that of a sword, it's end was rather round with curves here and there. It was an old rusted key with 3 silver rings on its long neck. I put it in the door and turned it. I heard a click and cautiously opened the door. There she was, a little frail thing sitting on the floor. She saw I had come in and looked up into my eyes. "Yes?" She said shyly. "I'd like to invite you to dinner." "Well that's sounds rather nice." She smiled lightly and looked down at her hands as if they had suddenly become very interesting. What had she been doing before I came in? I pondered the thought for a moment. Jamie looked at me puzzled. "Hunter, are you alright?" "Fine," I said quickly, "just tired I suppose. Wait here." I said suddenly walking out the door. I ran into the library and headed straight for an old box in the very back of the room. I knelt down to my knees and began searching through the box for something specific.
Jamie's POV:
He practically ran out of the room. I sighed and looked back down at my hands. What had just happened. Right before he walked in. I was sitting here just thinking about life and found myself thinking of Eli and Hunter and home. All my memories from the past year or so. The good ones, the next thing I know, something started to appear on my ring finger. Something that looked like it might of been in my skin. It was rather odd, but when Hunter walked in, it just disappeared. Suddenly Hunter reappeared holding an old looking book. "Mundas Supra Fidem?" I read aloud. It sounds familiar but I don't think I've read it before. "This book is just for you alright? It lists different things and facts and such, just don't freak out alright?" "Alright." I answered simply. I wonder what it's about.
Hunter's POV:
It's a simple book listing many different species from my world. If she must die in my world, she should have knowledge of my world. But she should only know some things. I'll start her off slow. Let her get use to the whole super natural thing.
