CARMEN"Oh my god Kai, it's perfect!" I yelled. Wrapping my arms around his neck.
He laughed in my ear, wrapping his big hands around my hips. He let me go and pulled me back. "But you haven't seen the entire place yet."
I looked at the entrance of the small apartment. It was empty, bare of furniture. All I could see so far was a bathroom to the right of the small entrance and a closet on the other side. I could see a glimpse into the next room, but I couldn't see much.
"I don't care." I hugged him tighter. "I love it. Wait, does it have a bed?" He nodded with a smile on a face. "Okay. Then I definitely love it."
Kai moved the blind fold that was around my neck, then turned me around. He pushed me into the next room. There was a kitchen. It would probably fit two people if they stood really close together and didn't move. I looked over at the dinning room. There was the first piece of furniture in the flat. It had three chairs with fake fruit on the round table.
"So I thought I would get a bed for in here. Maybe one of us can live out here? There's this curtain thing for privacy if one of us wanted to go into the living room while someone slept in here." Kai whispered. His lips were inches from my ear. He was hovering over me kindly.
I nodded, not really taking in what he said. I pulled on the curtain. It was a solid curtain, not like the fabric ones that hung from the window in the next room. There was a little compartment that a TV could be set on. There was a two person couch on the other side of the room. It was white, Kai was hopeless with white things. The entire apartment was going to be beige by the time we would be through with it.
I rubbed my feet against the floor. The carpet was soft and warm on my cold feet. There was a window seat, I loved window seats. I always wanted one.
"Come on, you haven't seen the master bedroom yet." Kai wrapped his arms around my stomach and pulled me to him. I laughed as he pushed me into the small kitchen, through a door I didn't notice, he stopped me in the doorway but didn't let me go. All I could do was look at the big white bed in the middle of the room.
Then, I turned around to Kai and started jumping up and down. I hugged him again. "This is so amazing!" I ran to the bed. I didn't want to get it as dirty as I was, so I just ran my hand down it. "But, how did we afford it?"
Kai was still smiling at me. "Let me deal with the financials for once, okay?"
I shook my head at him. "Seriously Kai, how much?" I wandered back into the kitchen and began to open the cupboards above the kitchen counter. I listened to Kai as I walked into the bathroom.
"Couple thousand. No biggie, Carmen. I got a job just a couple doors down. I can get it all back pretty quick. I promise." Kai leaned on the doorframe.
I slid open the clear glass door into the bathroom. It was fit for one person and barely fit in the bathroom itself. I had to squeeze through the door and the toilet. But there was running water and a shower I could go in at any point of the day.
I slapped Kai's arm. I hated when he didn't tell me about things. Like I was a child who needed protection or something. "So... before we get another bed, where am I supposed to sleep?"
Kai smirked. "Well, you can take the couch." I kicked his foot, instantly making mine burn. "Ow! Okay. You can take the bed tonight and we can alternate."
I shook my head. "It's a queen bed. You can sleep in it with me, you know." He looked at me as if I just kicked a puppy. "What? It's not like we haven't done it before."
Kai rolled his eyes. "Please" he drowned out the e and a. "I would gladly sleep in the same bed. It's much more comfortable. Except, you kick, a lot."
I laughed, I looked around the rooms. The walls were a pale white just like the rest of the apartment. I would have to change that. I liked walls with vibrant colours. Nothing this pale would ever be in the apartment that I could choose colours for.
"Come on, dummy. Let's go get food." I yanked on his big hands.
"Pizza?" Kai asked.
I nodded. "I could go for some pizza."
