"So did I get the job?" I ask the man, who could possibly be my boss now. He nods his head and says "Welcome to the team, Hart." I smile and thank him multiple times, and he laughs a bit, more than likely because of how big my smile is right now.

"So I have a question, sir. How much does this job pay?" I ask him, with one eyebrow raised. "Well, it depends on how often you decide to play. The more hours you play, the more you get payed. Since you are the musician, you come in at 11:00 and you can stay until 9:00, and a full day like that pays about eighty bucks. Also you get Sundays and Mondays off. Does that sound good to you?" he says, and I ponder for a moment.

I decide that that's perfect for me, so I nod my head. He shakes my hand and tells me I start tomorrow. We smile at each other for a moment, but his phone begins to ring.

"Excuse me, but I have to take this. I'll see you tomorrow, Hart." he says. While he's walking to the back, I hear his voice say "Yogi, stop panicking... Of course Darby will say yes! She's probably been waiting for you to propose for years!"

Wow, two proposals that are going to happen. Farkle is probably nervous too. Why he would be nervous, I have no idea about that, but I know Riley is going to say yes. She's been dating Farkle since she was seventeen, she's twenty five now.

I walk out the door of my new workplace thinking about if I would find someone. I had liked Riley's uncle, Josh, awhile back, but he never seemed to return the feelings. I got over him over the years that have passed, but I can't help but wonder if he did return the feelings. Would I be getting married soon, like everyone else is? Would I be happier? I dismiss the thoughts, and make my way to my apartment. When I reach my apartment building, I enter and begin to walk up the stairs. Finally making it to the fourth floor, I take out my key and unlock the door. Closing the door behind me, take the guitar case off my back and lay down on the couch. I felt my eyes begin to to close, so I got comfortable and waited until I fell asleep.

I don't know how long I was asleep, but when I woke up to the sound of the door being closed and Riley saying my name, I decided I was out cold for a while.

"Maya Maya MAYA MAYA MAYA!" I hear Riley say again as she rushes over to me with excitement in her eyes.

"Whaaaaat?" I say in a tired voice.

"Guess what happened? Guess guess guess." she said. I look at her hand for a second and see a ring. I smile at her, but I decide to let her tell me, even though I know what happened.

"FARKLE PROPOSED MAYA HE FINALLY PROPOSED!" I smiled widely at her again. I went in for a hug and said "Congrats Riles! I'm really happy for you!"

She released from our hug and showed me her ring. It was a gorgeous ring. She told me about her day with Farkle. How they walked in the park, ate ice cream, talked for hours in the park, ate cotton candy. Basically just their favorite place to be and eating sweets. I wish I could do that with someone.

Riley finished talking about her day and decided to ask me about if I had found any jobs available.

"So, how is the job search going?"

I looked at her nonchalantly, even though I was excited to tell her about how I found a job. "Well, I guess it's good. I mean, I found a job and all but, you know."

I tried to play it off like it wasn't a big deal, but it was clearly not working because I was smiling halfway through my sentence. Riley hugged me and told me she's happy that I found somewhere to work.

"So where are you working at, Maya?" she asked me curiously.

"Friar's Coffee House. Now I can get triple the amount of coffee I usually get in one day and probably for free." I responded. I was definitely excited about getting free coffee and baked goods.

"Ooh Friar's Coffee House, nice choice... assuming you've seen the owner, what do you think?" Riley asked me, curiosity in her tone. I tilted my head to the side a bit after she asked me that.

"Do you mean what do I think of Mr. Friar?"

She nodded her head and waited for my answer. I hadn't really thought of what I thought about him. I mean, now that I think about it, he's cute.. really cute.

"Hmm.. he's cute I guess." I said while shrugging.

Riley giggled at my answer and got excited again. "So do you think you see yourself, you know, dating him?"

I looked at her with wide eyes and said "Riley, he's my boss! I can't date him!" She chuckled and replied with "Oh fine. But don't think you can get by with that little excuse. I will find out if you like him, you know." I laughed at her response, and said "I just met him today. You're acting like we've known each other for a while and we've been flirting back and forth."

"Okay fine you just met him today, but the flirting thing, that was probably going to happen anyway."

Before I could defend my side of the argument, she interrupted me and said she was going to take a shower. As she walked away, I laughed to myself about how stubborn she was.

A minute or two later I finally stand up from the couch and walk over to the fridge to grab the ice cream from the freezer. After I grab the container and a spoon, I head to my room to eat and try to come up with some lyrics for a new song. After sitting on my bed for a while, I gave up on the music and ate the ice cream. The words that Riley had said before kept coming back in my thoughts.

"but the flirting thing, that was probably going to happen anyway."

I can't help but wonder about that. Me and Friar.. maybe it could happen.

(A/N) Chapter two complete yayy. Writing is a lot more difficult than I remember, but I still like writing this, so i'm not giving up on this book. Even if it turns out to be horribly written. But anyways, thanks for reading !! Byee
