The next day when I arrived at school, I felt like I had a new prospective on things. I started to see things differently and I mean that literally. As I was contemplating all these questions and ideas I look up to see Derek Hale himself. He was waiting for me at my locker as always. "Hey Izz! How you doing?" He looked as if his smile was forced. "Yeah. I'm fine. you?" I guess you could say my smile was forced as well. I still didn't know if Derek actually had feelings for me or if it was just for show where his family is our "protectors". And if so I needed to know now before I get to attached.
Later at practice we were doing cheers getting ready for Fridays game as the boys were doing a practice scrimmage. While we were taking a break I noticed Derek struggling during one of the teams play's, which is very unusual considering he was the teams best player. Coach Hanson had a frustrated look on his face, "Come on Hale! Get your head in the game!" Derek kept sneaking glances over my way, he looked like he was struggling with something, then Cameron came to him and if I didn't have the supernatural hearing I wouldn't of heard him, "Dude, quit siking your self out and just talk to her!" As cheer practice ended I waited for the basketball team to get done, not only cause my brothers were my ride, but to have a much needed talk to Derek. As I was going through things to say in my mind, I got interrupted by the sounds of the boys coming out. I searched through the sea of testrone and finally locked eyes with the guy I needed. Derek. He soon stood still waiting for the guy's to head out and giving me time to tell my brothers to go ahead and leave. We were soon the only ones left in the room. "So....." , I said to try and break the silence. Derek looks up,"Illizabeth, I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner ,heck, I just figured it out myself!", "Derek...", "I mean how was I supposed to know you were a visionary and my family was sworn to protect you!", "Derek...", "I mean I haven't felt this way about anyone in a long time, not since-", "Derek! I'm not mad at you!" Now he gives me time to talk, "I mean I'm still a little confused on the whole idea, but I'm not mad. Derek I just want to know that what is going on between us is something real or if it's-" "Just because my family is protecting you?" I just nod in response, "Izz, ever since I saw you walk into class I knew there was something there. I mean I know that we haven't known each other that long, but I can't stop thinking about you." And in that moment I knew that what we were feeling was something that could never be broken. I started edging closer to him, " Then do something about it....." It was as if he couldn't wait any longer as he rushed over to me and enveloped me in a slow passionate kiss. " That's when I knew,no matter what would happen, I would always have Derek.
