"Looking for these?"

My eyes closed slowly rising to my feet with my back to the person who holds my fate in his hands. He will decide my fate from here on out. I was sloppy. I didn't stay attune to my surroundings. I was so focused on getting to my clothes before anyone else that I made a mistake.

"I knew you would come back for these sooner or later." The voice snickered feeling power at the situation I landed myself in.

I twirled around fast collapsing at his feet sobbing. "Please you don't understand. I- I can explain."

"Cut the act Eva, if that is your real name. Man you are good, you almost had me fooled." He reached down grabbing me by my shoulders yanking me to my feet. I immediately dropped my head making my body limp in his hands. "Like I said you are really good. You made one mistake at dinner last night."

"What do you mean?" I whispered still staring down at the ground.

"When Kaleigh felt sorry for you being a half breed, I saw a spark of anger. That's when I saw a crack in your obvious 'scared little girl' act. So I decided to follow you today. Of course I was shocked when I saw you and Caden in the trees and then the visit from your special guest."

My cover was blown, he made me. I straighten up in his arm, placing my hands seductively on his chest and nuzzled his neck. "Okay what do you want Phillip?" I rubbed my legs in between his and place soft kisses along his jaw line.

He chuckled and stopped my hands from diving into his pants. "Not that. Don't get me wrong you are hot, but the rumor mill said that Colin's brother is your new mate. Sorry I don't need no possessive mate in my face." Phillip shoved me away from him. I stood fully erect, my arms hanging by my side tension coils throughout my body.

"If it's not that, then what?" I calculated every move and sound he made. Phillip shrugged.

"I don't want anything Eva. I wanted to let you know that you are safe with us. If you are being chased, we can help you.." He held up the bundle of evidence against me. "I do have to tell the alpha about this."

"I can't let you do that. Let it go and walk away. Keep this to yourself." I warned placing my hands behind back wrapping my right hand around the steel handle.

"Who are you? Who are working for? Are you trying to hurt our pack? Are you working with rogues or another pack?" Phillip fired a rapid line of questions at me knowing that I was not going to answer him.

"I am telling you again to walk away." I hardened my voice and growled to warn him to heed my advice.

"I can't. Listen whatever you are in to, the alpha will listen and help you with whatever trouble you..." Phillip didn't get to finish what he was saying because the knife cut off the rest of his words. His eyes widen in fear and before another second could pass I snapped his neck.

"I told you to walk away. Now look what you made me do." I stared down at Phillip's lifeless body and kicked him over to pull my knife out of his neck. Well damn this just got messy.
