Chapter 59

"Eva! Eva! Oh shit, she is over!"

"Is she alive?"

"How the fuck should I know? How about you shove the gigantic wolf off of her first, then I  can check!"

The voices pulled me from my momentarily trip to the dark abyss. I groaned as my body was being crushed by a heavy weight.

"Well that answers your question, she is alive."

"Peyton is that you?" I  croaked out as the dead weight was removed from my body.

"Damn Eva, you look like shit!"

"I feel like it too" I  agreed groaning in pain. Every time air entered my lungs a piercing pain stabbed me on my right side. Fuck! Carson's wolf had broken my ribs and my right arm. The lower half of my body felt numb. It was going to take some time before I was fully healed from the thrashing Carson gave me.

Getting to the holster was not an easy feat. I paid for it with every breath, but it was worth. Jeremiah Carson was dead. He can no longer harm my family.

I vaguely heard Peyton call for help, when I was dragged back into the darkness.

"Hey, glad you decided to join us." I focused on Peyton's voice as he perched on the side of the bed.

"Peyton, why the hell I'm rocking?"

"We're back on the boat." He informed poking my body here and there illicting a painful sigh from me. I felt like shit.

"What did I miss?"

"Let's see, we took out all of the Carsons and their men. We lost five good men and four are injured, not including you."

"I'm glad they're dead. Wish we could have done it without any losses. What's my prognosis?"

"Two cracked ribs, broken right arm, left leg broke, concussion, and lots of bruising all over your body."

"How fast will I heal?"

"A few days for most of your injuries. Your bone was protruding out of lower left leg and I  had to reset it. The leg will take a couple of weeks. When we get back, I will cast your leg.  Your arm was a clean break. If you keep it in the sling,  it will heal in a few days."

"Any news on Creed?" I wasn't sure if I  really wanted the answer to that question.

"No. Here let me call the hospital." Peyton pulled out his phone  from the bag laying on the bed.

I latched onto his wrist preventing him from making the call. "No, wait."

"Eva, if something was wrong we would've been notified."

"That's what worries me. Has he gotten better or worse? Peyton, what if he doesn't wake up or.."

"Stop torturing yourself. You have to believe that Creed is going to pull through it."

"I know, it's just.."

"I see you are awake." Klaus tap on the slightly opened door and thankfully saved me from continuing my conversation with Peyton.

"Klaus. You look almost as worse as I  feel." Klaus had an angry, red gash running down the side of his face and arms propped up by a pair of crutches. He stayed at the opening of the doorway of the small cabin.

"Yeah, you would too if you had to tangled with two councilmen."

"Really, then how are you up and walking around after two, and I'm confined to the bed tangling with just one?"
