Murder

Hey you very sexy people! Not that I've ever probably met any of you, but if your reading my story you must be!

Anyways, this is my first story I've posted on here, not too sure how to work/do everything so it would be really nice if anyone would point out any mistakes I've made.

Really hope you enjoy this, it began with a school project, but I only wrote a couple of chapters for that, and I really wanted to continue with it. So I am! With all you sexy people here to read!

Its a mystery/suspense genre kind of story, not too much horror or very frightening, but, yes, it will contain certain elements.

Also, on a VERY last note, some may notice I've used characters for a real book series called 'Soul Screamers' by Rachel Vincent.

However I've only used the names and certain looks/personality, not the plot or anything. And if you love to read and haven't a single idea what I'm talking about you should go buy them, there amazing!

I'll leave you to read now, really hope you like!

"Kaylee?" Tod Hudson called as he stepped into the house through the unlocked door. "Kaylee, are you in here?"

There was no lights on, the only source of light coming from the moon which was shining high in the deep velvet sky, giving his angelic face a translucent quality. Nash, Tod's twin brother, stepped into the house raising both dark eye brows and gestured towards the front room in a silent question.

Tod shrugged. "She's gotta be in here somewhere, her cars outside."

Nash silently closed the door, effectively cutting off their source of light, leaving them in the dark hallway. It felt unusually eerie, unusually quiet, both of which Kaylee's household was never; with two older and bubbly sisters, and her mother sweet and kind, somehow always managing to keep the house smelling of freshly backed cookies.

Kaylee's house usually radiated with love and comfort, somewhere you would always feel safe and comfortable, but now it only reeked of a bitter melancholy.

Nash flicked on the light switch, the light so blinding they both flinched, reflexively covering their eyes, until they adjusted. Bracing themselves for possible danger, the two brothers stepped towards the nearest door, which lead into the living room, and silently opened it.

Peaking inside, they saw nothing but the usual furniture. They opened the door further, stepped inside, and almost jumped right out of their skin when a dark silhouette appeared at the far end of the room.

Hurriedly Nash turned on the nearest light, and they both exhaled in relief when they saw it was only their good friend, Kaylee Mellark.

But looking at her again, they also saw the pale, ghostly look of terror etched onto her face, the shake of her hands, her eyes fixated ahead, not turning when the room suddenly illuminated with the lamp light. She was turned with her back to them; her curly hair so black it appeared blue in places, cascading down her back like a treacherous waterfall of ink.

"Kaylee, are you okay? What's the matter?" Nash asked slowly, his voice not louder then a whisper, and slightly shaking with fear, fear for her, not himself.

This wasn't like Kaylee, not at all.

The Hudson's both paused waiting for her answer, but she didn't even acknowledge they were there, never minding speaking to her. Tod hesitantly stepped forward, closer towards her and keeled down.

"Are you hurt?" Tod asked carefully, and this time she turned her head and stared at him blankly.

"Hurt? No, I'm not hurt. Not yet." Kaylee spoke slowly weighing each word, as if it physically hurt her to speak.

"What do you mean?" Nash asked, looking slightly scared now. "What do you mean 'not yet'?"

"He saw me."

"Who? Who saw you Kaylee? Please just talk to us, Kay, were worried! What's happened and who's seen you?" Tod demanded fiercely. "I swear, we won't let anyone hurt you." he added softly when he saw her startled expression.

Kaylee exhaled deeply, her breath white in the freezing December air, and turned to them, her face terrified, strange in contrast with her usual cheerful, 'happy go lucky' expression and spoke in a pained voice.

"The murderer."
