Chapter 5 :)!

Thoughts running around crazily in her head, she wasn't paying attention to where she was going as she flew down the school's steps, and soon ran into someone.
"Kaylee? Hey, we were just coming to find you." Tod laughed as he saw it was Kaylee who had ran straight into him.
"Yeah, sorry we didn't wait, I was starving!" Nash added cheekily. Kaylee wasn't paying too much attention though, as her thoughts were still elsewhere.
Picking up on her over wise directed thoughts, and knowing something must have caused it, Nash suggested to head to the library to 'study'. When in reality, he knew hardly no-one would be in the library at dinner.
Tod protested, insisting she must get something to eat first, and when Kaylee replied with 'not hungry', he also picked up on her mood and suddenly agreed to visit the library.
On arrival, after greeting the librarian, a quiet, mousy women named Sheila, with a respectful head nod, they settled onto some lumpy black beanbags which were situated the furthest away from both the entrance and the librarian.
Letting out a breath she didn't even know she was holding, Kaylee told the boys about Mr Ridgey's unusual behaviour. It was creepy to say the least.
A eerie silence fell over the three teenagers as she finished telling them the events of her strange encounter with their Biology teacher.
In a weak attempt to lighten the mood, Tod joked, "Maybe he fancies you! I knew he always took a certain liking to you." Both Nash and Kaylee shot him sharp glares and he quickly shut up.
"Honestly, though Kaylee, I don't think he meant anything by it. Everyone knows he's not completely 'there' in the head." Nash shattered the once again hushed silence.
"Yeah? Well what about him saying to be careful? Basically saying I'm next?" Kaylee said defensively, feeling like they thought she was making it a bigger deal than it was.
"I'm not saying that's not super creepy, but it's not what he said. According to you, he said the murderer could start killing bystanders next. That doesn't mean you, it means anyone. He's probably terrified its going to be him. You know how paranoid he is. He started shouting and shaking not to mention he actually hid under his desk when a fly flew into the lab one day."
Tod chuckled softly as he remembered that particularly entertaining Biology lesson.
"Wait, what do you mean 'according to me'?" Kaylee half shouted, outraged. "Are you seriously trying to imply I'm making to whole damn thing up?"
"Well, don't you think its a little bit too much of a coincidence that every time someone bad happens your always the one there! Then you come to us and put it on our shoulders with no actual proof! Why should we believe you?" Nash replied, just as angrily.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe years of friendship! I though you'd understand me better than that!"
"Oh, don't get all soppy. I really cant be bothered with you and all your pathetic problems today." Nash shrugged dismissively, as Kaylee's eyes filled with tears.
"Woah, guys, calm down." Tod spoke up, eyes wide at the scene unfolding in front of his eyes. "All of this is a lot to get your head around, I know. But we've got to stick together! Now stop arguing or I swear I'll walk out right now and your can solve your 'issues' with each other out by yourselves!"
Everyone was silent after Tod had spoken, and when neither Kaylee or Nash said anything he carried on.
"Good. Because we really haven't got any time for that. What else we need to do is not be pessimists. We need to be optimistic. Now, let's just put this Mr Ridgey thing behind us 'cause, he's out of his mind. We shouldn't ponder on if he was serious with what he was saying.
"However what we do need, is a plan."
"A plan? What do you mean? For what?" Nash enquired, looking suspiciously at his brother.
"C'mon, isn't it obvious! We know a lot of stuff the police don't, or haven't figured out for themselves. Plus, the murderer is quite clearly targeting the police force. At this moment, were one step ahead."
"And?" Kaylee egged him on.
"Seriously guys, sometimes you are so clueless." Tod shook his head in exasperation, running his hands through his thick, soft, curly blonde hair, blue eyes shimmering with excitement at the immense challenge they were going to soon encounter.
"We need to catch the murderer."
