Chapter 3! Enjoy :)

Just as the warm morning sun began to shine through Kaylee Mellark's window, and reflect dazzlingly bright sun beams into her airy, spacious light blue/brown colour schemed bedroom, she began to stir.
Stifling a huge yawn, she groggily sat up in bed, stretching her tanned arms above her head before throwing off her bed covers, and shuffling towards the slightly ajar bedroom door in a almost zombie-like fashion.
Out of the corner of one of her thick-with-sleep eyes, she spotted a dark polo sprawled on the sofa bed at the other side of the room.
Which lead to two muscly arms and a head of dark messy hair. She muffled a scream momentarily, before realising it was only Nash. Tears instantly welled up in her eyes as the remembered the previous days events.
Stirring at the sound of soft sobbing, Nash quickly sat up to see Kaylee perched on the very end of her bed crying into her hands.
Sighing quietly, he stood, making the sofa groan, and made his way over to her. No matter whatever hunches he had last night, he couldn't pretend he didn't hear her, so he did what any good friend does.
Wrapping his arms around her (making her jump slightly), he pressed her body into his and started muttering comforting words into her ear, his hot breath tickling her neck. She melted into his warmth like a safety blanket and buried her face into his shoulder.
Once she'd calmed down and stopped crying, Nash pulled back, lightly swept a stray tear from her cheekbone, took her hand and lead her downstairs, smiling encouragingly.
When they reached the bottom of the stairs that led into the hallway they pushed the door that opened up the front room. To see the tense back of a familiar, blue-eyed, blond curly haired friend.
"Tod." Kaylee spoke up, a small smile planted on her face. Which soon disappeared when he stood with an almost lightning speed, back now to the T.V, now facing them, a look of panic and terror in his mesmerizing sea coloured eyes.
Though he tried hard the mask it as a forced dimpled grin appeared on his face. Sensing something wrong, Kaylee stepped to her left, to step around the sofa, and Tod mirrored her action.
Frowning, she moved left again, and once again he did the same. Irritation began to sneak its way in her body and she snapped at him;
"What's your problem Tod?"
Looking incredibly grave, he shoot a nervous glance at his brother, who was now staring at the television, as by moving to his left had given Nash a clear view. And he looked terrified.
Meeting Tod's eyes, he turned to Kaylee and asked her to go upstairs and grab him a clean shirt from her dads room.
Which only roused her suspicion. Nash had gone home last night to grab a couple of things for him and Tod (including a spare set of clothes) whilst his brother stayed here, not willing to leave Kaylee alone.
She saw Nash glance at the television, then panicked asked her again. The T.V, Kaylee thought. It's something one the T.V, they don't want me to see.
A shiver of pure terror wound its way up her spine as she considered the possibility of what it was about. They didn't keep secrets, Tod, Nash & Kaylee, they told each other everything.
So why was they trying to keep whatever that the annoyingly high pitched women on the T.V was saying secret? Straining her ears she tried to listen but it was no use. The volume was too low.
Each breath came faster than the other, as the possiblys flew around in her head, and she realised she was hyperventilating.
Startled, Kaylee helplessly attempted to calm her breathing as she was already becoming dangerously light-headed. The last thing that she needed, what would make this situation any worse, was a panic attack.
They used to be common for her, at a time where the smallest of problems used to cause her a lot of stress. Whether it was an exam or a simple argument with friends, they used to claw at her, making her make them worse than they really were, therefore bringing on a panic attack.
She'd eventually become to deal with them, with the help of friends (Nash and Tod, ironically enough), and they weren't a common feat anymore.
But it was about time one occurred. The 'situation' was the biggest, scariest, most shocking thing that had ever happened in her life, and she was bound to stress over it.
However it was that her very best friends were keeping things from her that shattered her fragile composure, even if it was for her protection.
Her sight began to blur just as her vision was taken over by a sea of green. She focused her eyes in front of her and found she was staring into Nash's gorgeous green eyes.
Feeling a small pressure on her upper arms she discovered him holding her and saw his lips moving slightly, though she couldn't grasp what he was actually saying.
It didn't matter though, she knew from experience what he was saying. It's okay, Kay. Your okay. Breath now, slowly. In and out.
And she also knew Tod would be hovering nearby, within arms reach, waiting to catch her if she passed out. They had been there plenty of times to know when she has one of her 'turns', and were more than used to dealing with her.
Feeling herself calming down, she nodded slightly and took a shaky step forward and Nash wrapped an arm around her and supported her towards the sofa.
Sinking into its cool reassurance, she rested her head onto Tod's shoulder, who had immediately taken a seat next to her. They sat in silence for a while, when Kaylee realised it was silent. Completely silent. They had turned the T.V off.
Anger welled up inside her as she stood up, momentarily feeling a wave of dizziness, but carried on despite it.
"Stop hiding stuff from me!" She screamed, making them both jump a little, caught of guard.
"I'm not a child! This has as much to do with me as it has to do with you! Probably more! I saw it! You CAN'T keep secrets from me, or that could be dangerous for me, 'cause I don't know something important! You've got to tell me everything, 'cause keeping things from me isn't protecting me, it's making me blind to what's going on, which is bad! Dangerous! So tell me!"
She carried on her rant until Tod loudly spoke up.
"We're sorry, Kay. We know we shouldn't, but, we just didn't want to make to any more involved in this, or to feel anymore guilty." Tod said slowly, Nash nodding in agreement.
"I am involved though, Tod." Kaylee said earnestly. "I wish I wasn't, but I am. And as were going to the police station today, I need to know abo.." She trailed off as she caught a meaningful look between the boys. "What?"
"Were not going to the station, Kay." Nash spoke, shaking his head.
"What? You two were the one's who wanted me to so desperately go yesterday, and know you don't? What's changed overnight?" And with her words Tod stood up and turned on the T.V.
"Because things have gotten more serious, Kay. And we don't want the police to blame you for this."
Because on the T.V, on the news channel, was today's new headlines.
"2nd POLICE OFFICER FOUND DEAD IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING"
"ANOTHER BRUTAL POLICE MURDER"
Kaylee closed her eyes, trying to swallow the sick feeling crawling up her throat. Another person had died, and it was all her fault.
