Chapter 7-

When I wake my eyes are stinging and my pillow is wet. I shake the pillow and just put it down in the end. My body swings out of bed and my feet hit the floor. I'm still wearing what I was yesterday. I walk to a drawer and grab whatever I see first. A black t-shirt and black skinny jeans. Similar to what I was wearing yesterday. I stumble out the door without brushing my hair. When at the dining car, everyone is already there, again.

"You look a mess! Did you even touch your hair?" Effie screeches.

"No." I admit shyly.

"Effie, she's got some things on her mind. Come on, I'll brush your hair." My mother says. She guides me down the hall to my room and sits me on the bed. Then she gets a brush off a table and starts brushing. She hums a tune I've never heard before.

"What are you humming?" I ask her.

"It's an old song your grandfather used to sing. I swear he knew every song in the universe."

"How does it go?" she purses her lips.

"Not today." She states.

"What's it about?" I ask.

"Having a close relationship with someone, nothing really important." She explains.

"I'm never ever gonna have a close relationship with anyone. I'm either gonna die in these games or stay with you guys forever." I determinedly say.

"That's what I told uncle Gale, and my mother, and my father." She says and kisses me on the head. My mother walks out of the room. She has turned my hair into an elegant braid like hers. I get up and walk out and back to the dining cart.

"Well, doesn't she look better now?" Effie snootily says.

"Looks like a mini Katniss to me." Haymitch grunts and takes a swig of his bottle.

"Oh look! We're entering the Capitol!" Effie squeaks. My mom grabs a chair and sits down shaking. I go over and sit on her lap, as if it will help. Suddenly, I train is engulfed in darkness. All you can hear is the wheels of the train. I can see my mothers silhouette tense beside me. I hug her around the neck and lean my head on her chest. She moves her hands and hugs me back. We sit for a while before the blinding light hits my eyes. I squint and see........ A lot of shiny buildings. I get up and walk to the window to get a better view. So does Galen. People start to notice this is a tribute train and jump up and down, since they have not seen in so long. When they notice it's district 12's train, they freak out and run and wave at us shouting, "Katniss! Primrose!" and occasionally, "Galen!" I wave and my mother does the same from behind me. Soon, Galen catches on and waves too. It all stops when the train comes to a halt in front of the training building. The place where I will be living for the time before the games.
