It was a beautiful day in Japan. It was probably because Kiku Honda, the personification of Japan himself was in such a peaceful mood. He sat under a Sakura tree, with a light summer breeze blowing. Alfred F. Jones, the personification of America was visiting his house. He currently was out shopping for traditional Japanese treats, considering how much he loved food.

Kiku had origami paper all around him. He placed small rocks over the paper so it wouldn't blow away. He was folding small paper cranes. 1000 of them. He only had 87 of them done. If he made 1000 paper cranes, then he could make a wish and it would come true. Well, surely it would, because of all the effort you put into folding them.

"Hey! Kiku, dude! I brought snacks!" Alfred said as he entered the garden Kiku was in. He had a bag and was waving it in the air. Then Alfred noticed what Kiku was doing.

"Hey, whatcha foldin'? Is that one of those paper flamingo-chicken thingies?" He asked as he stared at the many cranes.

"Hai, but this is no framingo chicken, it's a crane," Kiku answered.

"Ohhhh, but why do you have like, 500 of them, dude?" Alfred asked.

"Actuarry, I only have 87 of them, but that's not even half of how much I have to make," Kiku said.

"Holy Crap! How many do you have to make?! And why do you have to make them?" Alfred asked, shocked.

"Werr, an ord Japanese story says that if you make a thousand of them, you can make a wish and it wirr come true," Kiku explained.

"Oh, okay then, but how the hell are you supposed to make 1000? That's impossible!" Alfred exclaimed.

"Peopre have done it before, it wirr take time but it will be worth it," Kiku answered.

"Huh, okay. You really want a wish that bad, don't ya? Here, how bout I help you?" Alfred said.

"Rearry? Ok," Kiku answered. "I'rr show you how to make one,"

"And then we can both make a wish!" Alfred added.

I wonder what Alfred-kun will wish for. Surely not the same as me. I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel the same way I do... That is why I will wish for a chance to be with Alfred-kun. Kiku thought. He gave some paper to Alfred and started showing him how to fold a crane. Gee, Kiku really does look cute when he's concentrating. I wonder what he will wish for... I hope he likes me the way I like him... Or maybe I'll wish for a lifetime supply of burgers! Alfred thought.

* * *

They folded paper for hours and talked too. It was getting slightly dark but the afternoon was beautiful. Finally, they only had 30 cranes to make.

"Look Kiku! We're almost done!" Alfred exclaimed happily. "Have you thought of what you will wish for?" He asked.

"Actuarry, I have known for quite a whire," Kiku blushed as he said that sentence.

"Oooh! Can you tell me? Pretty please?" Alfred pouted.

"Sorry Arfred-Kun, but I can't terr you, if I do it won't come true," Kiku answered.

"Oh. Right," Alfred said disappointed. After a few minutes they finally finished. Alfred smiled when he saw Kiku fold the last crane.

"Okay, ready for the wish?" Alfred asked.

"Hai," Kiku nodded. They sat silently for a few seconds while they made their wish. Alfred opened his eyes and noticed Kiku was still making his wish. Alfred couldn't take the tension anymore. He decided he would make a move, weather he would get rejected or not, it didn't matter, he had to do it now. He felt like his life depended on it. So he did it. He slowly leaned over towards Kiku until their lips were one centimeter apart from his. As Kiku opened his eyes he felt soft lips on top of his. He blushed so much. He felt the butterflies in his stomach and his hands were trembling. But he felt... Happiness. Kiku raised his hand up to the level where Alfred's cheek was and placed his hand on top of it. Alfred blushed and placed his hand on top of Kiku's hand. Kiku closed his eyes to enjoy their kiss. They finally pulled away for air and stared at each other's eyes. The sunset around them was beautiful. It was the perfect moment.

"I got my wish," Alfred said as he smiled and blushed. He laughed a bit and smiled at Kiku. Kiku smiled back and laughed too. They both laughed.

"Kiku, I love you. I always have," Alfred said calmly. Then he pulled Kiku into another kiss.

"Me too. Koishiteru, Alfred-kun,"
