Chapter 5: Hurt

The next day, in the music theory class, I poke Ryan's shoulder who sits in front of me.
"Hey, how you feeling?"
"Oh I'm okay..." He says without turning around to face me.
"Oh....ok Good, so what about my grade?" When I said that his ears turn red like he just remembered something.
"O-ohh uhh I'll give it to you at lunch cause I forgot the book in my locker" "Kay" I say as I go back to work. At lunch I went to his locker and he finally gave the mark to me. "Thanks, so when should I grade you?"
"Oh um I'll tell you later cause I'm busy"
"ok sure"
"....yea......"
".....Oh did you hear Yimura's new album?" I say excitedly.
"...huh?oh yea..."
"??? Did I do something wrong?" "What do you mean?"
"I mean you're so quiet lately and not talking to me"
"..." He turned away when he closed his locker. "Hey" I say touching his arm to stop him.
"Don't touch me!" He throws my hand away.
"Wh-"
"please! Leave me alone!"
"...Oh ok yea sorry for bothering you" I walk away quickly with my head down.
"Hey.....wait"
I hear him, but conflicted I keep walking. I got to the cafeteria toward the lunch table where Lola and Habibi were sitting *Picture on top*. I tell them how Ryan is acting weird and doesn't want me around.
"That piece of shit, ima go talk to him right now!" says Habibi as she gets up furiously
"no! Don't" I say stopping her. "Cause he's doesn't wanna talk to me so it also means not wanna hear about me"
"that idiot though he just yells at you without an explanation?" Says Habibi as she sits down.
"Yea... But"
"but?" Says Lola.
"He called me after I was walking away but I didn't listen cause I was too hurt"
"man up! Er or woman up! Or however the hell you say it! Anyways you don't need that boy to bring you down" says Habibi.
"Yea... But I'm wondering why he was like that, he started acting weird when he was grading me"
"he's probably just going through something and needs time alone" says Lola.
"yea you're right"
"but cheer up, you got us so don't worry" Lola says as she has a warm smile.
"Hmph still pissed at him though" says Habibi.
"I'll talk to Michael and see what's going on" says Lola.
"No it's okay, he should tell me himself if there is anything he wants me to know" I say smiling. They both smile as well. I buy myself a sand which and then the three of us continue eating our lunches.
