Summary of story: Shiro is left at the carnival with her crush Akihiko, but her plans crashed and burned when he disappeared... Or so she thought.
Shiro grabbed Akihiko's arm and pulled back only slightly to capture his attention. He turns around and nods, "Shiro, what's wrong?" His dark brown eyes looked black at this time in the night.
She stares back at him, now embarrassed that she grab him like that, this was their first date after all. "I- just.. Aren't they a bit late?"
Okay so it wasn't a date. Originally Yui and Shiro were suppose to hang out with Nozaki and Akihiko as just friends.
At least just Shiro and Akihiko were acquaintances. Yui and Nozaki are dating, and she was forced to come by demands of Yui. But no, neither of the power couple were present and they haven't called either.
"I'll call him." Akihiko says, sounding completely bored.
Shiro, nods, and let's go of Akihiko's jacket, blushing madly. She turns away from him, trying to see if she spots Yui around in the crowd.
They were in a carnival, if anyone from school saw her and Akihiko they'd probably think they were dating.
'Damn Yui! She can't do this to me! Oh gosh what am I going to do?!'
Shiro turns back around, ready to comment on the wind, but doesn't see Akihiko. She panics and spins around, gulping, her eyes dart everywhere, a rock feels like it's swishing around in her stomach.
"A-Akihiko!" She shouts over the roar of the crowd, turning around desperately.
Shiro prods her scarf and fiddles with the edge of her coat, a clear sign of her nervousness. She stands on her tippy toes and tries to look over people's head, although she knew it was in vain, standing only 5"4, there was no way she could see over.
'You'd think he'd at least tell me he's leaving.'
Shiro sighs heavily, feeling reproached. "And I dressed so nicely." She mutters.
Her feet take off on her own, her mind losing itself to far, Shiro is not able to hear the shouts of an angry Akihiko.

"Shiro, sorry I didn't call earlier, my mom told me last minute." Yui said over the phone so full of remorse Shiro could hear her frown.
"Ah no! It's fine Yui, plus the carnival is really fun!"
Amongst the strangers, Shiro did feel left out since they had someone close or talking to them, but the carnival was just as good to enjoy.
"I'd bet it is, having Akihiko there with you~"
Shiro's cheeks burn with embarrassment and she waves a hand over her face. "Ah! I mean, uh he's not here with me. He left already."
Shiro heard Yui's gasp and immediately she regretted telling her best friend that her crush had up and left.
"What! No he didn't! I'm calling Nozaki right now, Akihiko is such a-"
"It's fine Yui, I'm okay!" Shiro laughs looking around at the bright lights and feeling the lively atmosphere. "I really like it, and you never know- I may find a cute boy."
Yui giggles from the phone and Shiro laughs, and keeps on walking.
"Oops, gotta go. My mom is calling for me to get in the car. I'll see you at school! Let's hope you meet someone~ Bye, Shiro!"
"Bye Yui, have fun."
Having closed her phone, Shiro exhales happily, and looks around at the scene unfolding around her. The happy smiles, the children with smudged faces..
