Alice POV

“Alice…” I hear someone whisper and felt a hand on my face. It gently moved my hair behind my ear and I softly moaned. “Alice.” I hear someone say again.

I slowly opened my eyes and noticed that my head was on James’ shoulder. I sprigged up and rubbed my cheek trying to hide my blush.

Oh boy.

“Oh...um…yea...sorry.” I looked out the window to see we had landed and the people were unloading the bags. I looked at my phone in my other hand and had just noticed music had stop playing. I must have gone through my playlist.

“No, it’s fine. It’s just I didn’t want to wake you.” James said while chucking softly.

I looked back at him. “I must have really hurt your shoulder. I’m sorry-,” I started to say. I felt really bad.

“Alice. It’s fine. I thought you actually looked pretty cute.” I blushed looking away.

“Hey you two, you guys sleep well on the plane?”

I looked over to see my mother staring back at us. She had a knowing glint in her eyes but she tried to hide it. I knew she saw us sleeping and I bet she probably took a picture or something.

Oh boy.

I blushed harder at her. “Yea….I slept great” I stammered out. My mother smiled innocently but her eyes held humor in them. I saw James smile at her.

“I slept fine, had a girl with a giant head on my shoulder but otherwise, fine.” I gasped at James’ smirking face and my mother laughed.

James laughed. ‘Oh, calm down, I was only joking.” He ruffled my hair, “No need to get all grumpy.” I rolled my eyes and unbuckled. I cracked my back and winged up my headphones.  I saw my mother and James start getting their stuff ready as well.

I looked around the plane and noticed that a lot people had already gotten off. Normally, we would have stood there for a good twenty minutes and then had slowly gotten out of our seats and out the plane. But this seemed different.

I had just finished packing everything away when my mother started walking off the plane. I looked back in the seats making sure I didn’t leave anything before following James.

We walked in silence down the long hallway, our feet echoing on the ground. When we exited the long corridor, I was greeted with tired looking people.

There weren’t a lot of people around, time being a good reason, and it was pretty quiet. I could see some people dozing off and others wake awake on the computers.

I followed my mother and James towards baggage claim. I always disliked this part of flying. You finally arrived at our destination safe and sound only to maybe have a situation in baggage claim. Or you finally got off the plane and all you wanted to do was get a taxi or get in a car and drive off. But first you got stand around a circle thing waiting for your bag.

Watching twenty bags before you see one just like yours and you wait for it just to find out it’s not. Or when your bag finally gets to you, you have this pressure of being strong enough to pick it up without hitting any of the people close to you.

We walked towards the section where our bags would be. I recognized some of the people on the plane standing at the gate we were at. I looked up and saw it was Gate 65, and had our flight number and information on top.
