Nelson kissed my cheek and rubbed my knuckles. He smiled into my eyes and I knew that I wanted to spend my life with him. I leaned into him and he held me close. We were alone in our room, that's why he was being so lovey. He wasn't one for showing his emotions in public and I only minded, slightly. He rubbed his cheek on mine. "Adrian, darling', I love you."

"I love you too, Nelson."

"But I need to tell you something, darling'. It's very important." When I just looked at him, he continued. "I know your secret, Adrian. I've always known but I've only kept it a secret from you so I could do this." His face morphed and changed to Lucas’s. I couldn't breathe as he laughed and pushed me away. "Haha, I fooled you, Adrian! You thought I was Nelson, but in truth, Nelson was me!" He laughed before his teeth sank into my neck.

I shot up screaming. I looked around and I felt the hands of our night-maid, Sally, touch the nape of my neck. "Shh, shh. Miss, it was just a bad dream. It'll fine." Her voice was soothing and it had that English accent to it I loved. "Here's some water. Take a small sip, dove." She whispered, using the nickname she thought I'd one day call my children. She claims to be a soothsayer, and claims to see the future.

"Thank you." I said, after I took a sip. "Can you turn on the light?" She did as I asked.

"You were screaming so I came in to see what the matter was. You woke Mister Nelson but I wouldn't let in leave his room in fear he'd get hurt trying to save you. Are you all right. Would you like to talk about the dream?"

I shook my head. "Oh goodness no." I laughed nervously. "It's not something you'd understand. It's not because it's complicated, but it has to do with my family." She nodded at smiled, as if she understood exactly what I had been dreaming about. "Is Nelson outside the door?" She nodded again, and I made a motion indicating I wanted her to let Nelson in. She did and he came to my bedside.

"Your hands are so cold, Adrian. Was there someone in here? Or was it a bad dream?" Sally escaped.

"It was a bad dream, Nelson. A horrible one and I wish I could erase it from my memories." I smiled at him and put the back of my hand over my forehead. "But alas, my love, I cannot." he scowled at me, and I knew I wasn't funny. I sighed and gripped his hands. "Nelson, darling, it is fine. It was just a nightmare. Though, I'd like it if you'd lay with me, just for a little while." He eyed my nighty, a little thin thing, barely enough material to cover my thighs. I smiled at him a little.

He nodded, "Yes, I supposed I will." He got up, walked to the other edge of the bed, and kissed my hand when he had climbed under the covers. I smiled at him and snuggled deeper into the blankets. I cuddled up to him. "Adrian." he said. When I didn't answer right away, he continued. "Why did you agree to marry me?"

A little startled, I pulled away. Nelson isn't the one for asking questions like the one he just asked. It must have been boggling his mind for a while for him to ask. "I agreed because I love you. I want to spend the last of my days with you."

I felt him nod in the darkness.
