Chapter Five

What the hell is going on?!?! I thought to myself. Is he royal or famous or something?!?! What have I gotten myself into?.. I stood frozen in my spot as those doors opened. Daniel put his hand on the small of my back and I jumped. I looked at him and he gave me a warm smile and guided me to the front of the room where there was a podium. He sat me at a nearby table then left me. People were still clapping, I just sat there flustered and embarrassed. He stood at the podium with that million dollar smile, as everyone quieted down. He looked at me then opened his mouth to speak.
"Good Evening everyone, I'd like to give you all a proper greeting in show of my gratitude that you've made it here on this fine night. I apologize for the absence of my parents, they've sent their apologies also. May you all have as much of a wonderful night as I hope to have." He finished and stepped down from the stage as everyone applauded his thirty second speech. I rolled my eyes. Why have I agreed to come? I want to see my son. I took out my phone and called Maria. She picked up on the second ring.
"Hey how's it going?" She asked.
"What the hell is this?" I said bluntly. I got up and headed towards the back. She needs to spill the beans, and spill them quickly.

-After my speech I stepped down and everyone started coming up to me asking me questions. Mostly about Cat, I didn't know what to tell them. So I just brushed it off.
"She's just a friend" I said "May we sit and eat please? My guest is waiting" I turned towards the table and she was gone. I looked around and spotted someone that I wish I hadn't seen. She looked me right in the eyes and smirked while coming my direction. Those blonde locks and green orbs that I'll never forget. I tried to make myself look like I didn't notice her but she had already caught my attention and all I could look at was her.
"Hi Daniel" she said and gave me a hug. Her vanilla scent brought back so many memories of the past. I cleared my throat.
"Hello, Olivia......"

"Well...... We are royal" Maria said through the phone. "Our parents are the King and Queen of Naples a hidden Island. I know it sounds hard to believe, we just wanted to be treated like normal people" she finished. I couldn't even speak. What am I to do?
"I-I have to go, call you later" I hung up before she could even reply. I went to Frank.
"Hi Frank, um any idea to where the washroom is?"
"Right behind that door Madame" I smiled and thanked him and headed towards the washroom. I needed to refreshen myself before I head back into that room.
When I walked into the washroom I looked at myself in the mirror.
"I can do this" I whispered to myself. I splashed a little bit of water on my face and wiped it off making sure I didn't mess up my make-up, I glanced at myself one more time then left out.

When I opened the doors to the ball room I saw Daniel hugged up with some woman. I chuckled to myself, She's probably just a friend no need to stress.. We aren't even dating or anything, I thought. I walked up to them and put my hand on his arm. He looked at me then at the woman. What? I looked at the woman and she was smirking the entire time, well since he won't introduce us then I'll do it.
"Hello, I'm Caterina Russo. You are?" I smiled and held out my hand.
"Olivia.... Banks" she looked at me taking my hand and glanced at Daniel. I looked at him also.
"Um. I'll be over there if you need anything Daniel" I told him and started to walk away, something is obviously up with him.
"You really downgraded I see or is she just one of your whores?" I heard the bitch say. I snapped my head in their direction so quick I could've gotten whip lash. I huffed and calmed myself down in my head. Don't make a scene, I said to myself. The music started to play and people started to get onto the dance floor waltzing. I walked up to Daniel and pulled him to the dance floor. I am not a whore, she has some fucking nerve speaking on me like she knows me. I told the band to play some music and Daniel and I started the dance. He looked at me quite confused at first.
"I just want a dance, I am at a ball right and aren't I suppose to be your date?" I smirked. He grinned and pulled me in close.
"Well you are in for a surprise" he whispered in my ear. His breath sent chills down my spine. I took a deep breath. If only he knew my history and with that we started moving to the beat. We started with a simple ball room dance then as the beat got quicker we changed the traditional routine around. I closed my eyes feeling the music in my soul as my high school self came outside of the box I hid her in. Daniel stepped to the side to take off his suit jacket as he gave me an opportunity to solo. He ran in and slid on the floor. I spun and he caught me and lifted me into the air. As the music slowed to an end he slowly brung me down holding me closely to him. Our faces were so close I could feel his uneasy breathing on my face. I closed my eyes and leaned onto his chest. When the music came to a complete stop, I opened my eyes as everyone stared in awe applauding our dance. I blushed and glanced side ways and spotted Olivia glaring at me with envy. I smiled sweetly and turned to Daniel who was staring at me with eyes full of something I couldn't recognize.
"Let's get out of here" I whispered to him and grabbed his hand, running through the crowd heading to the back door. I said my farewells to Frank and pushed open the door breathing in the night air. I was ecstatic, I haven't danced like that since high school, since I've had Eden. I twirled around and headed towards the street forgetting Daniels presence. I stopped in my tracks and turned to him to see him leaning on the building with a smirk on his face.
"What? Why are you looking at me in such a way?" I asked him crossing my arms. I was so happy I had lost my breath.
"I didn't know you could dance like that" he said walking towards me.
"I didn't know I could still dance like that either! I haven't danced since high school!" I looked up at the beautiful night sky and smiled.
"Its late we should get going, I want to see my son" I said heading to his car.
"Alright love" he said unlocking the car doors and opening my door. When he got in he looked at me like he wanted to tell me something.
"Yes Daniel?"
"I want to take you to one more place, then I promise I'll take you and Eden home"
"Sure thing" I said with a smile.

I started to drive, heading to the last place I wanted to take her. Which was an old orchard next to this lake, that once in a while, has many swans in. The orchard was painted with bright colors as to symbol someone's happiness for their time there. This was the one place I go to when I needed to think about things.
You could see the bright colors of the orchard perfectly in the night sky. I looked over at Caterina to see her glancing out the window watching the trees pass. I smiled to myself and turned the car into the side road where the orchard was located. A few seconds later you could see that bright colored wood in the distance.
"What is this?" She said looking at me and at the orchard. I pulled up and went to her side and opened her door and grabbed her hand gently.
"It's my secret hide out, where I like to be alone at" I smiled at her and led her to the lake. "You're the first person I've brought here" she smiled brightly and walked to the edge of the lake.
"It's beautiful" she turned to me "thank you so much for this night"
"Anytime, I'll do whatever for you" I said and walked up to her to embrace her small body. "Lets get going now, so you can get home to Eden" I said then led her back to the car.

Finally another chapter finished. Sorry for the wait guys. Cheer practice and school has me busy, busy, busy.
