Chapter Four

Her dress

I looked at myself in the mirror for the first time since Maria has got me together. My breath was taken at how stunning I looked. I couldnt even believe it. I had on an sleeveless low v-cut black dress that hugged my hips down to my knees with gold stilettos. My hair was curled and pinned into an updo and I had light make up on with dramatic eyeliner and mascara. I looked at myself once more then grabbed my clutche and hugged Maria.
"Thank you" I whispered. She smiled hard and nodded her head and opened the door for me. I headed for the steps and walk down to see Daniel and Eden waiting at the end staring at me.
"Wow mommy, you look great!" Eden said grabbing my hand as I stepped off the last step.
"Thank you Ed" I smiled at him then looked at Daniel. His gaze was stuck on me, apparently he was as speechless as I was. I smirked at him amd waved my hand in front of his face.
"Earth to Daniel" I chuckled as he blinked a few times and laughed dryly clearing his throat.
"Im sorry, you look beyond beautiful" he said as his face turned tomato red. I smiled.
"Thank your sister" I said pointing at her from peeking behind the steps. I looked at her and she jumped from behind the steps and waved embarrassed. He chuckled.
"Well its time to go" he said checking his watch. I bent down and kissed Edens cheek "Behave" I told him and he saluted me "Yes ma'am". I stood up and hooked my arm around Daniels and we were out.
We got into the car and I fiddled with my fingers like a little high school girl. Yes, I was nervous. I mean who wouldn't?! A very attractive man was taking me out for dinner and it was a surprise dinner. He even bought me clothes!! I have to make sure to pay him back every cent.
"You seem a little distracted are you okay?" He whispered looking at me from the corner of his eye. I inhaled deeply and replied a quiet yes.
"Where are we going?" I asked him, now putting my full attention on him.
" That's a surprise, but you'll like it......hopefully" he said whispering the last word so I couldn't hear him, but oh I did.
I stared out of the window and just waited, he pulled up at a parking lot behind a huge building. It looked abandoned. I stiffened as I began to grow cautious. I stayed into the car while he got out. He ran to my side and opened the door. When i didn't move he reached his hand out.
"Do you trust me?" he asked. I scrunched my eyebrows and looked up at him. "What?"
"I said do you trust me?" he repeated. i looked at his hand and hesitated but surely grabbed his hand. I prayed to myself mentally to make sure that God was on my side tonight.

I hope everything goes well tonight. She may not trust where we're going but it's just a decoy to the real party. I have planned to bring her to the royal ball tonight as my date, she knows it as just a dinner or party whatever she was thinking. But boy does she have another thing coming for her. Hopefully I don't scare her off with this new piece of information about me. We got to the back of the building and I knocked on the door. A man opened it slightly.
"Name?" He said without even looking at me.
"Frank really...?"
"Oh I'm sorry Sir Bastio" he said then opened the door and bowed.
"Come on now it's just Daniel" I said patting his shoulder.
"No, I would prefer to address you formally sir, it is a pleasure seeing you here on this fine night"
"Well... It was nice seeing you also Frank take care of the kids and your wife" I said finalising our conversation. I then turned to Caterina and she looked as if she was about to blow with questions.
"Are you alright?" I started
"What was that about? Am I missing something? Why does this building look so horrible on the outside and so beautiful in the inside? Why did he call you sir and bowed? What the hell is going on here Daniel? I thought we were going to a dinner!" She finished huffing trying to catch her breath. I turned towards her and looked into her eyes.
"Just trust me okay..." She nodded and we continued walking down the hallway to two large doors. There was music playing behind those doors and chatter between the guests. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it to assure her that everything is going to be alright. And with that the music stopped and the two doors opened and everyone stood at the floor clapping at my arrival.
