'I'm sorry, Evan. I just can't keep going with this.' I said as I desperately looked around the kitchen to find my purse.
'Alexis, please. Just stay, we can talk about it.' Evan pleaded.
I closed my eyes to hold back my tears. 'It's not you, Evan. It's me. It's my fault. I should have never started with this in the first place. I really have to go.'
'No, please.' He took a step closer, tears obviously forming in his big, dark eyes. The same eyes who knocked me of guard just a mere seven months ago. 'I don't want to lose you.'
I take a deep breath to keep my shaky voice under control. 'Evan, I don't think you realize, you already have.'
