~Evan's POV~

I woke up with a splitting head ache. I didn't even remember how I came home, let alone what time.

I sat up, still in my clothes from yesterday as I glanced over at the glass of water and the few painkillers on the nightstand.

I fastly swallowed them down.

I grabbed my phone and checked if Alexis called or texted me, but nothing.

So like every morning, I decided to send her a message; Goodmoring, beautiful. I miss you. <3

I heard Emma's voice talking enthousiastically, she was on the phone with someone.

I waggled to the living room where Emma caught my gaze as she mumbled; 'Hey, I gotta go. I'll call you later.'

I walked closer but she stopped me. 'Take a shower, you smell on booze.'

I sighed deeply. Emma sighed deeply also.

'What's going on with you, Evan?' She asked, running a hand through her bronze hair. 'You're wasted every night for the past couple of months. Like, what? How long is this going on now? Three months? Four?'

'Three I guess.' I shrugged.

'You guess?' She sighed, dropping the subject. 'So, uhm, about the wedding, what do you think of...'

I sighed. I needed to tell her the truth.

I wasn't fair that I was leading her on. 'Emma,...'

'I was thinking the maids of honor could be in blue? What do you think? But not like the dark blue, like a light, heavenly blue,....' She kept going on and I needed to put an end on this right now.

'Emma, there won't be a wedding!' I shouted.

Her voice dropped immediatly and she looked up at me, her lips parted and her eyes crushed. 'What?'

I sighed deeply. 'Sit down, Emma, we need to talk.'

She sat down on the couch and I sat down next to her. 'Look,' I said softly. 'I am going to come clean all the way, okay. Remember the girl who came by from starbucks? I uhm... I fell in love with her, and I swear, Emma, I am so so sorry. I didn't mean for it to happpen but it did.'

She took a deep breath. 'Did you fell in love with her before or after she brought the coat?' She asked with tears glimming in her eyes and trembling lips.

'Before. The first moment I saw her.' I confessed.

Emma bit her lip but managed to drop a small smile. 'They say love at first sight is the purest kind of love.'

'I am so so so sorry, Emma. I really am. But you and I both know that this wasn't going to work anymore. We both deserve a chance of being happy.' I laid a hand on her knee as I used my free hand to wipe away my tears.

I had loved her. I really did, so letting her go was hard, but I needed to.

'It's because of her that you lost your mind, right?' She asked, allowing her own eyes to give her tears an escape.

I nodded.

'Since when is this going on?'

'Five months, I'm sorry.' I breathed. 'I swear I haven't seen her in the last three months.'

'What happened then?' She asked.

I wasn't sure if it would be comfortable to explain all this to her, but I did anyway. 'I said I didn't know her, and with the whole marriage and everything, she couldn't take it anymore.'

'Time to set the facts straight, then.' She mumbled.

'What do you mean?'

Emma took my hand in hers. 'You're a great guy, Ev. But I'm sure she's a great girl too. You have a talkshow tonight, of course they'll question it. So tell them what you really feel for this girl.'

'Wow, what?' I jumped up in disbelief. 'You're saying,...'

Emma also stood up and wrapped her tiny arms around me. 'Thanks for everything. I had a great time with you.' She sobbed.

I pressed her small frame against mine for a last time. 'Thank you. I am so sorry, Emma.'

She looked up at me. 'We still need to figure out everything. Like who's gonna get the appartment...?'

I pouted my lips. 'Until we figured everything out, maybe we can still share the appartment for a while, as friends?'

She nodded and bit her lip, then said: 'But I do think I will stay at Sarah's for a while, just to get my mind straight.'

I nodded understaning. 'Okay.' I checked the clock. 'Ugh, I'm almost running late.'

Emma took my face in her hands and pressed our lips together in a heated kiss, the last one of us.

I looked her right in the eyes before I went, and all she said was; 'Go get your girl.'

And with that, I left.

And this was the end of my relationship and my engagement.
