The Girl In Military School

Chapter one

I closed the curtains. It is raining heavily outside .I sit on my bed with my hot cocoa letting steam out. ,,Rinnnggg!" the door bell. I stood up and got to the door.-Mail?
,,Mail for Becca McGregor."
,,That's me!?" I close the door and sit on the couch and looked at the mail. Nothing was written on the envelope, so I opened it.-What? This cannot be true!! I am shocked.-Military school!! NO!
,,Mum." I said tears come to my eyes.
,,Yes, honey?" said mum softly.
,,Come, now!" I said.
Mum came quick and I showed her the letter in the envelope. It said:
,, We would like to inform you -Becca McGregor, that you have been expelled from 'Saint Peter School'. We would also like to inform you that you are heading to military school next week on December 13th."
Mum looked at me and gave me a tight hug. I broke into tears.
Is she hiding something?
,,Mum, did you know about this?" I said still crying even more.
,, Yes, yes dear. I knew it all from the start." said mum.
Really? And she didn't tell me.
Why!?
I looked at her confused, shocked, speechless. I was mad and angry.
,, Why didn't you tell me?" I said in anger.
,, Honey, I am so sorry, but I couldn't . I couldn't tell you untill I found out that you were the chosen one, but now that you are, I'll tell you. Every year one girl gets chosen to go to military school by the government. The government says girls have to be tough and protect themselves from any violence, and this year it was you!"
I thought a minute about my best friend Maya, which I knew since kindergarten. I couldn't imagine my life without her and then I thought about military school. I imagined myself wearing a disgusting uniform everyday holding guns and dangerous weapons I can't deal with.
