,, It is time to go!" said mum.
I am shaking, from this minute on I will be wearing a ring my entire life.
We arrived at the hospital. I took a deep breath and took a step into the hospital. At this moment I didn't want my mum to leave me. I waited in the waiting room with my mum.
,,Becca McGregor." Said the doctor. It was a girl.
-Good! At least she'll be gentle!
I left my mum and went into the surgery room. I sat on the bed. The only thing I can say right now is:
,,God be with me"
The doctor put the mask on her face and opened a box with supplies.
-Wait she didn't give me any anaesthia!? Now I am really shaking. I closed my eyes. I didn't want to see anything. I imagined a doctor opening my finger and inserting a ring. A metal hard ring. That would definitely hurt!
I felt something cold touching my finger. -A knife!?
What if something goes wrong. I could lose my whole finger. I am so scared! My blood pressurelowersandIfellunconscious.
I opened my eyes. I saw someone familiar holding my hands. I am on a bed. -Not mine! I look around, my mum is here my dad is here too and MAYA!! But how did she know? I have to talk to her, tell her it was all a coincidence. Oh! I am so glad she's here. Wait!? We're at her house.
I looked down and recognized my finger, the ring, it was there. It won't come off ever again.
I tried to hide it from Maya, but I just couldn't move my hand. It did hurt. I stood up slowly towards Maya and mum and dad left us for a few minutes.
,,What happened?" said Maya tears in her eyes.
,,I have been chosen from the government." I said.
,,Please Becca, don't leave me now." She said quietly.
,,Maya, I couldn't do something. Believe me I tried. I'm sorry."
She wiped off her tears and said:
,,At least we can meet up sometimes, better than nothing." This is where I started to cry myself.
,,Maya please, I cannot take this anymore. I have to go." I said crying hard and stood up.
,,Wait!" she said holding my arm.
,,Why are you crying?"
I don't answer, pulled my arm away and left the room.
,,Let's go." I said to my parents, wiping my tears and head to the car.
On the way back home I couldn't get my mind off Maya and how she grabbed my arm.
