She ran towards the barriers and jumped as high as she could. My heart was pounding. She made it.
She actually made it.
Not a single flame caught her. I was happy for her. Mrs. Skylar looked at me that meant it was my turn.
I ran as fast I could, pushed the floor with my feet and passed the barrier.
It felt so good after I jumped, knowing that it was over.
I wished Emma good luck as she ran towards the barrier. She did a very good job jumping over them.
The three of us finished jumping.
We looked at our schedules. We had 20 mins break. I took Emma on a side and told her about the letter. She looked puzzled and confused. ,,It is still the first day , who would send you something like that. "
She promised me to keep it a secret. We made our way to the cabins and changed. I didn't wait for her and went straight to the room. I sat on my bed and saw something black on my blanket.
- Another letter!!
- Who is it ?
I took it carefully scared to open it. I could hear my heartbeat in my head.
It said:
,,The connection gets stronger. I feel it. I'll hunt you down at night. I'll scare you to death if you don't reveal yourself to me. I'm waiting."
I stared at the letter.
I heard the sound of the door knob. I waited to see who it is.
- Probably Emma!!
The door opened and Stephanie came in. I hid the letter as fast as I could. Then I looked at her. She looked red as if someone just slapped her on her face. She was breathing hard.
,,What happened?" I asked. She looked surprised and finally said:
,,Since when do you care?" I rolled my eyes and repeated the question, but instead answering, she went to the bathroom leaving me with no answer.
After a couple of minutes Emma walked in.
,,Hey, do you know what happened to Stephanie. She came in all red in the face." I asked curiously.
,,One of the security dogs chased her because she was sneaking at the principal's office. The dog scared the hell out of her. It was hilarious but a bit strange.
- Why would she sneak at his office? That's shocking!
Stephanie was still in the bathroom. Emma sat on her bed, too and was busy checking her phone, while I was trying to figure out what just happened.
Suddenly we heard a glass shattering on the floor. It came from the bathroom.
,,Stephanie, what is going on?" I asked.
But she didn't answer me.
