sunsets

So there we were, having the time of our lives. The music was blaring, everyone was in their zone (especially us). Lorelei hooked up with that security guard (knew it) & was swaying to the music alongside him. He was pretty fine I had to admit.
Belle was close by with a guy as well; he was tall as hell, had ruffled blonde hair, light blue eyes that seem to reflect the ocean, he was built up, & had this Justin Bieber look going on, but he definitely made it work. I believe his name is Ethan & he also happened to be friends with the guy I bumped into. Speaking of that I never caught his name. He was over at the DJ booth requesting a song, before that we immediately hit it off. We talked about everything under the sun, from food to music to lifestyle, just everything. He really was a nice guy, very caring & sweet. He was also shy, which I found adorable. Most guys are too cocky or conceited & I don't dig it.

He started heading back towards me, & I hear a new song click on. I remembered the familiar tune, & came to the realization it was my favorite song. I looked at him with wide eyes, "OMG MY SONG!!" He smiled, "yeah I thought you might enjoy that. I'm really good friends with the DJ so I just went over & had him play it for you." I boggled my eyes at him, he was a sweetheart. I then remember my question, "Hey, I don't believe I caught your name," I laughed & flushed a bit red. "Jaycob," he replied with a grin, "And yours?" My stomach fluttered, "Katelyn, but everyone calls me Kate." We locked our gazes for a second, but then again like it was a script Belle shows up. "Hey, Ethan said he knows this great spot farther down the beach!"

Belle & I gather up everyone & start our way down the beach. The air was salty, the breeze warm, the sand in between my toes; I wouldn't have it any other way. The tide was a slow gentle roll, sliding up on the shore, & then slipping away just as fast as it came. The sky had a pink & orange hue to it as the sun threatened to fade away. Finally, we reach this rocky hill & were told to climb up. I huffed a little bc I hate climbing, I usually fall. I started up the hill slowly, but ofc my left foot slipped. I started slipping down a bit but had an arm coiled around my waist in a knick of time before I fell down. I look to my right & see Jaycob. "Don't worry I got you, climbing isn't my thing either," he chuckled. My cheeks burned pink, but I laughed it off too. After making it to the top we took in our surroundings. You could see everything from up here, all of the city lights shined, the sun setting made the sky turn a deep pink with orange & purple mixed in, the air was fresh, & the people surrounding me made it all worth while. I looked at all my friends smiling ear to ear; man I was so lucky. "Who's up for a little bonfire?" I say with a an eyebrow raised. All at once I had a bunch of yes's, hell yeah, & bishhhh yassss. So you can see where that went. Just before getting down I glance over at Jaycob & see him staring but turn away quickly. I grin, & feel like tonight is going to be a night I'll never forget.
