Chapter 1

"What're you doing right this second?" My best friend Aaliyah asks me once I answer the phone.

"Oggling at Dylan Sprayberry. Why?" I ask playing with the hem of my baggy tee shirt. I quickly pause the episode of Teen Wolf I was in the middle of so I can focus all of my attention on our conversation.

"Ooh tempting." She says and I laugh slightly.

"Very."

"However we are going to a party tonight. So get out of the sweatpants and baggy tee that I know you're wearing and put on something hot." She says. I groan.

"But Aaliyah! Dylan Sprayberry!" I whine.

"I will hear no if, ands or buts." She says. I sigh exasperatedly but get up. I switch off my Apple TV before returning back to my conversation with my best friend.

"I honestly hate you." I mutter as I take the stairs two at a time.

"No you don't, see you in ten babe." She hangs up and I go into my room to find something to wear. I sigh at the lack of party clothing in my closet before deciding to go with something simple. I pull out a pair of black skinny jeans and a short sleeve, tight fitting, white crop top. I pull the outfit on before running a brush through my blue hair and throwing on some deodorant and perfume. I quickly put on a new pair of socks before grabbing my converse from my closet and putting them on. I lace them up and stand in front of my mirror. I play with the ends of my hairs before deciding I want to curl it. I plug my curling wand in and head into the bathroom that connects to my room. I pull my make-up towards me as I hear Aaliyah yell from downstairs.

"Yo I'm here so hurry up!"

"I'm doing my make-up and curling my hair so chill." I yell in response. I hear her give an exaggerated scream mixed with a groan before stomping up the stairs.

"You are so high maintenance." She says when she reaches the bathroom door.

"Don't you know it." I say throwing a smirk her way. She lets out a giggle and rolls her eyes at me.

"Hurry up I wanna go." She whines.

"It amazes me how fast you can go from giggly to whiney." I muse before putting the cap back on my eyeliner. I swipe on some mascara before putting away my make-up and heading back out to my vanity.

"I'll curl your hair." Aaliyah offers. I hand her the wand with a smile.

"Thanks love." I say. She takes it from me with a smile before starting in on my hair. About 20 minutes later she's finished and spraying hairspray in my hair.

"Thanks." I say. She switches it off and I unplug it. I grab a black cross body purse and stuff my phone in it. I grab my wallet put it in a larger bag with a few other things to keep in the car in case I get bored, and knowing me I will, before we head downstairs. I flick off lights as I go and lock the door behind me.

"Where are your parents tonight?" Aaliyah asks me. I shrug.

"Some posh dinner party." I say getting into the passenger seat of her car. She gets into the driver's side and puts the key in the ignition. She backs out of my driveway and starts driving to the party.

"Did I mention how mad I am at you for interrupting my Teen Wolf sesh?" I ask looking at her and raising an eyebrow.

"No but I gathered." She says letting out a short laugh. I roll my eyes. She pulls up along the curb and parks the car.

"Okay let's get this show on the road." She says.

"I'll be designated driver." I say as we get out.
