Callie has spent the majority of her nights pacing in a guest bedroom with her hands molded together in an awkward embrace as she slotted her clammy fingers and hit herself in the forehead multiple times.

She lets out an elongated sigh and stares out the window into the cloudy night that looms over San Diego. She's adopted, Stef and Lena fought for her for months, and this is how she repays them. This is how they repay her, too? For all the emotional stress she's been through, which has certainly been more than them. They just let her go, they let all of their hard work to call her an Adams-Foster go because of a baby.

God, but it's more than that, she thinks to herself as she leans on the windowsill. It's much more.

Her and Brandon have been stuck at Robert's for almost a week now and nothing seems to be getting better. They're equally worried about the school work they've missed but they're both terrified of facing Lena. They don't want her to kick them out but it seems likely -- especially if she's been listening to Stef's mouth run for the entirety of the six days they've been gone.

But she's always been the calmer, more put together one. Right?

"Right, Lena, let's let our pregnant daughter parade around school with her hands locked with her brother's. How sane would that appear to the rest of the students?"

"Stef, we need to be reasonable about this. They need an education more than anything else. Don't you want them to get stable jobs and an apartment? They can't camp out at motels forever."

Stef takes off her reading glasses and sits them on the nightstand beside her, "I don't know." she huffs. Lena looks at her wife with softer features, her eyes focusing slowly and carefully on the blonde's cerulean eyes.

"I know this has been hard on you. He's your baby, and she is too. But maybe we should've seen this coming--"

"Seen this coming?! Do you hear yourself right now?! They're brother and sister!"

Lena crosses her arms, "Obviously not anymore. Seems to me that they think of each other as anything but brother and sister. And we shouldn't push the idea any longer, especially at a time like this. Callie seems adamant on keeping the baby and Brandon is naturally willing to help her."

"Yeah, well, just because they weren't destined," Stef says 'destined' in a low and exaggerated voice, "to be brother and sister doesn't mean I have to like it."

"Do you think I like it either? I'm just saying, dear, we can't shut them out of every outlet they have to us just because we don't like what they've gotten themselves into. I doubt they like what they've done to their futures either but they're dealing with it like mature--"
