She sipped her coffee, devoured its taste,

A certain connection snapped between our fates

Her wisdom outshined her perfect face

Maybe this coffee shop is going to be my favourite place.

-Dave

I got up and prepared to celebrate my first holiday in a very long time. Mark never wants to see me relaxed and therefore... You got it right? Yeah!

I was very excited to meet Ashley today. After so long I'm going to blabber about my passion. Poetry. Writing. No one actually understood my attraction towards writing. I'm kind of good in business yet I like writing more than that.

I stride towards bathroom to study my face. Did I need shave or something like that? I looked in the mirror and no... I don't need one. My beard was not too overgrown. It'll be fine. I'll impress her with my words.

What the actual hell? I am not going to meet her in order to make her my girlfriend or something. We'll be very good friends if she approves. I smile sheepishly at myself and practiced the way I'll greet her.

"Hey Ashhhhh. I'm Dave and what a great day right?" Wtf? No! I'm fangirling

"Hi Ashley. I'm Dave Parker. Nice to meet you." Is this what? A business meeting?

After trying for next 10 minutes I gave up. "I'll just go with the flow."

I started to brush my teeth and bathed quickly to celebrate my holiday. Hell yeah!

By the time the sun was grinning brightly in the sky I was done with my chores and was ready to hit the road. To my bookshop. Obviously it ain't mine but I treat it like my own. The owner and I are good friends and it is a place where I find mental peace.

I started my car, my baby Honda civic, and drove towards the bookshop. On the way I saw a stall where an old lady was selling homemade cookies. "I am definitely going to buy few packets on the way back." I sang to the radio loudly and reached my destination.

I removed my aviators and got out of my car when suddenly my head started throbbing from another level of pain. No I'm not diagnosed with any kind of disease. There was a big ass pole in front of me and I didn't notice it because of all the style I was trying to show off. Whatever. I am acting like an overwhelming chick today. Calm down Dave. I know you are excited but you've to compose yourself.

I entered the bookshop, greeted the owner with a grin and went to my favourite section of classic literature. I spent next I don't know how many hours in the bookshop.

By the time I was done reading few blurps and few chapters of my today's Shakespeare novel, it was 1 pm. Just one hour to meet Ashley and so much to do!

I rushed out of the bookshop telling bye to whoever it was and started my car. I drove towards my house pick few packets of cookies and a small bouquet for Ashley as a note of apology.

I changed in my button up black shirt and khaki pants, messed my hair a bit and got out to meet her.

Ashley's POV

I was exhausted by the time the lunch break started. I was annoyed and frustrated with myself because:

1. My mind didn't give me any hint on the article

2. I was thinking about Dave constantly

3. Marc's laugh was the major reason why I was diverted from my work.

I left my office and headed towards the coffee shop. It was a beautiful day and I felt relaxed after escaping my cabin. I entered the coffee shop and a chime from the bell greeted me. I smile to myself and waved Jerr from the distance. He asked me to get my usual and I nodded with a smile.

I sat on my usual seat and waited for my coffee and Dave. My coffee came just after couple of minutes and I breathed a sigh of relief by its hypnotic fragrance. I closed my eyes and took a sip when suddenly I heard the doorbell chime. I don't know whether it was an instinct or the way my heart started to beat faster which told me that Dave was here. I looked up and I was in awe. Was there something wrong with the Parker gene?

He was dressed in a black button up shirt and a khaki pant. He held a bouquet in his one hand and a small bag in other. His eyes were searching the area for me and when I waved to him, his eyes met mine. We both stared at each other for what felt like eternity. I finally looked away with a blush on my cheek.

He came to my table and I looked straight in his beautiful green eyes. He brought his hand forward, "hi miss Ashley. It's nice to finally meet you!" he said with a sheepish smile and I laughed a little," oh hello Mr. Dave. Feeling is mutual."

He handed me the bouquet and the small bag he held," um! I'm sorry for not being able to make it up to you yesterday. These are some note of apology from me." I smiled brightly at him, "its okay Mr. Dave. Your apology is accepted... Now please sit down."

He sat in the opposite chair to me and I studied his profile with deep concentration. Lean yet muscular body perfectly trimmed yet messy hair and oh those green eyes which looked directly at me with a handsome face and an evil smirk. Smirk? Wait what? Oh my god, he noticed me checking him out. I picked up my coffee cup and took a sip from it. He was watching me closely and my embarrassment reached to the highest level. I cleared my throat and asked him to order anything for him and that this meeting was on me. He refused the last part but eventually agreed after my protest; he picked out the menu and studied it to order his coffee. He ordered the same coffee I was drinking and damn! Now the real conversation was about to get started. The butterflies grew wild in my stomach and I smiled at him waiting for his next step.

A/N: Hey lovelies. I,m sorry for this late update. Medical keeps me engaged.
