"Thank you again for dinner Mrs. Clif- I mean Karen." I say gratefully.

"Anytime dear, I really don't mind." Michael starts walking toward us and puts his arm around me. "Why don't you walk Carly home" she says giving me a wink. I turn bright red and she starts laughing at her joke. Michael looks like he's about to drop on floor and cry because her statement.

I put on my jacket and my black vans and start out the door with Michael following suit behind me.

"You didn't have to walk me home. I know it's kind of cold so I don't really mind if you just go back."

"Don't be crazy, it's fine, I like walking around anyways." He says giving me the biggest grin I've ever seen. After about 10 more minutes of walking we arrive at my house. I look in the driveway and see that my moms car is gone. She must be at work.

"Thanks for having me over for dinner, it was really fun." I say quietly because he was just staring at me.

"Thanks for dying my hair. I would have needed my mom to do it of you hadn't." After realizing what he had said he starts looking around but I let out a small giggle. "Are your parents home?" He asks making sure I would be able to get in.

"My moms at work and my brothers probably sleeping or at his girlfriends." He gives me a weird look but then gives me a smile.

"I'll see you later Carly," he says giving me a quick hug and then walks away quickly. I start walking into my house and then I hear yelling.

"Carly! Where were you? I was so worried! Who was that boy with weird hair?" She starts screaming at me, not letting me answer any of the questions she was throwing at me.

"Sorry I was at a friends house. I had dinner with him and his mom. He's Michael, lives about 15 minutes down the street." I say walking quickly up the stairs. My mom starts yelling at me for being irresponsible and for not communicating. I told her I was going out. What else does she need from me, a kidney?
