If you talk like best friends,
flirt like first loves,
and protect each other like siblings:
It's meant to be. ~unknownThe Burrow
Ottery St. Catchpole, Devon
August 5 1992"Beds empty! No note! Car gone...could have crashed...out of my mind with worry...did you care?...Never, as long as I've lived....you wait until your father gets home, we never had trouble like this from Bill, or Charlie, or Percy..."
"Perfect Percy." Fred muttered.
"YOU COULD DO WITH TAKING A LEAF OUT OF PERCY'S BOOK!" Yelled Mrs. Weasley. Artemis's chin was resting on something hard. She turned her face towards something soft and warm. She stiffened her arms that were wrapped around some kind of pillow and snuggled up against it. It smelled familiar but she couldn't quite place it. It smelled a little like mint, grass, owl treats and something else, but Merlin...did it smell good. "You could have died, you could have been seen, you could have lost your father his job..." Mrs. Weasley yelled hoarsely. "And what happened to Ara!" Artemis could feel someone stroke her hair.
"She fell asleep." Harry said softly. His voice seemed to come from inches above Artemis's head. "Well, I'm very pleased to see you, Harry, dear." Mrs. Weasley said. "Come in and have some breakfast."
Artemis felt herself moving as she was still half-asleep. "Can you carry her up the stairs or should we do it?" One of the twins whispered.
"No, I'll do it. Where is her room?"
"It's on the third landing. Come, I'll show you." Fred whispered. He knocked on a door with Ginevra's room written on it.
"Come in." A girl called. Harry stepped inside with a sleeping Artemis in his arms. "What happened? Is she okay? Is she hurt?" A girl with lightbrown hair and big green eyes rushed forward.
"She's fine." Harry said quickly and the small girl breathed a sigh of relief. "She's asleep."
"Oh, thank Merlin." The girl sighed. "I'm Selena, by the way. Her younger sister and you are-?" She looked Harry up and down. "Let's see...messy black hair, pretty green eyes and glasses, not bad-looking...quite good-looking actually...." Harry blushed. "-weird scar on his forehead...and what are you wearing? Have you never heard of trying to find your own size?" Harry chuckled. "...you must be Harry Potter. I heard all about your adventures last year. Ari's bed is over there." She pointed at the campbed closest to the door.
Harry walked towards it and carefully bend down to lay the girl craddled against his chest on the soft mattress. He tucked her in and stood up straight again. "She looks so peaceful." Selena said with a gentle smile. "She hates falling asleep because of the nig...never mind that. Thanks for carrying her in."
Harry wanted to ask what she was going to say but Artemis obviously didn't want Harry to know. "It was nice to meet you, Selena." He smiled and headed downstairs.
"Is he gone?" Ginny whispered.
"Yes, Gin, he's gone." Selena sighed. "Why were you acting so weird all of a sudden? He's just a boy." She shook her head.
"I can't let Harry Potter see me in my pink nightdress. What will he think of me?"
"That you just got out of bed." Selena shrugged. "That's what he'll think. Besides if you're going to Hogwarts this year you should get used to seeing him more often. But I must admit, he really is good-looking."
"I know." Ginny said, dreamily. "Lena, can you help me pick something to wear?" Ginny questioned as she rummaged through her dresser. "I have nothing to wear." She groaned.
