Matt
It's a good thing to know Harper and I are on good terms now. We walk down the stairs of the hotel and into Nash's car.
"Ok, first we take this left then that curve," Harper commands. She refreshes the GPS on my phone and crinkles her forehead.
"Whoops, never mind. Take a left then a u-turn, we're going the wrong way."
I can't help but laugh at Harper's lack of attention. It's funny when she least realizes it.
"So Harper, what are your plans for 2016?" I ask her, curious about her plans.
"Well..... I might complete the goals I made in 2015. That or maybe go to Vidicon. I don't know." She begin talking about color swatches, and I listen to every detail.
"WHAT THE FUCK MATT YOU PASSED THE RED LIGHT!" Harper exclaims.
It was true. I heard one police car coming our way. Before anything else, I check the time. It's 7:49 and our flight is in about 4 hours. The police man knocks on my window and I turn it down quickly.
"You are aware you sped over a red light, right? I need to see your license," says the police officer.
Oh Shit.
I remember. I forgot my hoodie. With my wallet. "Improvise," I tell myself.
"Sir, I need to see your license now."
Harper shoots me a worried glance that reads my facial expressions.
"Um....Well officer.....I don't have it, but is there a chance-"
"Get out of the car, now. You too," he points to Harper.
We both do as he says, and he handcuffs us on the spot. Afterwards he puts us in his small car.
"I'm super sorry, Harper. I didn't mean for this to happen."
"Meh, it could be worse."
At that instant, my phone begins to ring. Despite being hadcuffed, I manage to reach the phone.
"You better be careful with that phone call. You only get one," the officer says.
I flip over so I can access the speaker button. Hopefully this person can save us.
"Hey, Matt! Where the hell are you and Harper? It's eight o'clock. We need to go over the packing checklist!" exclaims Taylor. I inhale and belt out my problem.
"So, Taylor, we may have gotten arrested, and we need for you to call Shawn and Hayes. Call them to take a taxi to come to Rappahannock Jail, to bail us out. Did you get that?" I feel the need to repeat that because Taylor's a bit......... forgetful.
"I got it!" Taylor exclaims, then hangs up. I shift back into a comfortable position and look at the jail as we pull into the parking lot.
"That sure looks friendly," Harper murmurs.
It sure does.
