Katherine scurry in the darkness and throws Jack a ring of keys. "I'll get the lights, you get those windows unlocked."
See we are underground the Pulitzer Building this is were that printing press is that Joe doesn't run. I think this is a basement, but it is very big for a basement Me, Katherine, Jack, Davey, Darcy, and Katherine's other writer friend, Bill. The others are going to come when we give the signal. Race is keeping watch so we don't get caught.
Jack looks at the ring of keys and laughs. "Got enough keys here for the entire building. Someone's been picking daddy's pockets!" He says laughing at his own joke, but no one else laughed. That made for a very awkward moment.
Katherine makes a looks like 'yup, that's the guys I choose to love' then she starts to talk. "Anyway....The janitor's been working here since he was 8 and hasn't had a raise in 20 years. He's with us 100%."
"Hey, you bring your fellas with ya? Whats happening?" Jack points to Darcy and Bill. I trust Darcy. I don't know him very well, but I would consider him a friend.
Davey looking around taps Jack's shoulder. "We could hold a ho down in here, and no one would be the wiser." Jack makes a little laugh and then Davey pipes up again. "It's good to have you back."
Jack laughs and says. "Shut up." Typical of him.
I walk over to Darcy and give him a hug. "How you been Stray?" He says smiling.
"Ya know same old. Same old." I chuckle out.
Darcy smiles and looks at my outfit. "Orange is a good color on you." He says. "Work now, play later." Is all I reply with. That's makes Bill crack up like an egg.
Katherine walks over to the printing press where we are standing. "Well, here she is, boys. Now just think: While my father snores blissfully in his bed, we will be using his very own press to bring him down."
Jack quickly walks behind me and he whispers in my ear for a split second before he walks off. "Remind me to stay on her good side." I cover my hand over my mouth to keep from busting out loud.
Darcy looks at the old piece of machinery. He surveys if can work with it and then he supplies is with his answer. "I can see why they tossed this old girl down in the cellar, but I think she'll do the job."
Jack looks at Darcy. They were not properly introduced. Katherine grabs Jack hand and leads him over to Darcy. "Jack, this is Darcy. He knows just about everything there is to know about printing." Jack goes for a spit-shake. Darcy looks repulsed. Jack wipes his hand and then they shake.
He then tries to start up a conversation with Darcy. "You work for one of the papes?" He asks.
Oh no. Darcy then quickly answers him. "My father owns the Trib." Jack is left in shock as Darcy goes back to working on the printing press.
Katherine then leads Jack over to Bill. "And this is Bill, he'll be typesetting the article for us."
Jack laughs and then tries to make yet another joke. I saw that it wasn't going to work, before he even said anything. "Bill? So I suppose you're the son of William Randolph Hearst, huh?"
Bill grabbed Jack hand and started shaking it profoundly. "And proud to be part of your revolution!"
Jack wanders off and starts to mutter to himself. "Ain't that somethin'......."
