Chapter 8

Was I jinxed?

Because...

The face I never wanted to see again,

The person I swore I would never want to meet again,

And...The person who broke my heart that made me believe that no one can actually love you truly...

...Is the person staring right back at me.

I sighed.

I hate you destiny.

I faked a smile, nodded and turned my back on him.

I was too occupied with my thoughts that I didn't hear the teacher come in.

Free period is now over?

I mentally groaned.

And the subject's Math?

I groaned louder, nevertheless I went with the flow and greeted the teacher just like everyone else did... With a fake smile and fake enthusiasm that is.

"Good Afternoon students! I would like to welcome a new student who is from Europe..." The teacher announced cheerfully.

Ugh. I groaned for the third time.

I'm betting my whole anime collection that that is not Cedric.

Please... be not Cedric.

I prayed and hoped mentally.

But then the teacher mentioned the name I despised the most.

That's when all my hope crashed.

"... Cedric Vince Delos Reyes"

But then I thought, what was Cedric doing in this class if he's not the new student?

Ughh. I groaned again.

That was stupid of to think that he was not the new student, so stupid of me to have hope. Ugh.

"Please introduce yourself to the class"

I saw him stand and go to the front of the class wearing that rectangular smile of his.

Ugh. I groaned for the enth time.

I just slumped into my seat and waited for him to introduce ...

... but what I did not expect was that I heard the teacher call my name.

"Ms. Smith, could you please stop groaning? That is disrespect!"

My head shot up in an instant, to see everyone looking at me.

I felt embarrassment and my cheeks burned up in an instant,

"I-uhh... Mianhae." I bowed my head in embarrassment.

The teacher nodded and spoke.

"okay, Mr. Delos Reyes, you may continue."

"Pfft.. Hahahahahahaha" I heard someone laughing.

My head looked up to see Cedric laughing his eyes out, while looking at me.

The teacher was confused , so was everyone else.

While I, I just glared at him, real hard.

And you know what he did next?

He winked at me.

UUUGH.

I ignored him and just averted my attention back to the teacher, who's now staring at me, like everyone else, again.

"O...kay, please proceed"

Phew. I mentally sighed.

Now the attention not on us anymore.

"Okay, I have to apologize for that awkward moment, but hi, my name's Cedric Vince Delos Reyes, I'm from Europe, I just came last week and I'm hoping to make new friends with you guys so please take care of me!" He bowed to everyone politely.

"Thank you Mr. Delos Reyes, since that your new here, you can choose where you want to sit."

He nodded to the teacher and looked at me, then at the seat beside me.

I followed his eyes and looked at the seat next to me.

Don't tell me... oh no.

I hurriedly tapped a random boy's shoulder in front of me.

"umm..yes?" He seems scared... well he should be.

"Sit beside me" I offered my vacant seat, well more like, commanded.

He hesitated a bit and of course, he agreed.

He was about to stand up when I felt someone already seated beside me.

The student sighed in relief, he was THAT scared huh.

He sat back to his original spot and said.

"Someone's already seated beside--"

"I know, don't remind me." I told him while wearing the biggest fake smile I could ever give to a person, which alarmed him and he turned back instantly, scared of what I might do to him.

Psh. Scaredy Cat.

I rolled my eyes and leaned back to my back with my arms crossed.

"Why do you look like that?" said a person beside me.

Oh yeah. I forgot I've got a new seat mate.

I rolled my eyes again and asked, still not facing him.

"What do you want?" I asked coldly, with my eyebrows furrowed.

In my peripheral view, I saw him smirk but it all faded when he got serious and looked at me then smiled.

"Your forgiveness"

Hi guys!!

I have a speech prepared for you guys..

First of all, I'm really, terribly sorry for being hiatus for three months(?)

I've been very busy with school. With my academics and clubs.

Imagine, we got 15+ projects announced during feb. and submitted in feb.

All my weekends were taken by group meetings and projects. I was barely home and got little sleep. So I'm really sorry for not updating sooner that you've expected.

Secondly, I'm really thankful that you guys supported my story even though I think it's a bit crappy lol. Thank you for almost 900 reads and 80 votes ^^. I also appreciate your comments, it motivates me to write hehehe, so keep em' coming :D

Thirdly, since it's summer, I will be working hard to write more chapters and I'll be hoping that you will like it haha.

P.S. Friends of mine requested that I keep the name Kirby since it was cute so that explains the return of the name kirby in chapter 7--

--this chapter in confusing, there will be explanations and flashbacks for upcoming chapters so yeah haha.
