Veanaㄱ

"So how was the tour?" The puppy asked. It was six in the evening and Bailey just went home and I had no idea that this puppy was waiting for me outside the gate. I told him that I could go home but he insisted, so here we are, walking towards the bus station.

"It was okay, I guess." I shrugged. Honestly, I was kind of disappointed. When I asked Bailey if we have met before, she didn't answer, which made me more suspicious.

But at least we became friends, and that's a good thing, right?

I'm not so sure.

"Okay?" He questioned eying me suspiciously, raising his eyebrow.
"Yes, it was--ha." I gasped when I saw the ice cream shop.

My attention was fully on the ice cream shop so I didn't talk nor listen to Vincent.

My eyes widened as I felt my lips turn into a wide grin.

It has been a long time since I've eaten ice cream and now, the new ice cream shop was open.

I've been waiting for this shop to open since forever and now it's finally open!

Every time I take this route to the bus station, I always see this ice cream shop and always thought that when I'm inside that shop, I will be my true self.

Why? It's because ice cream brings out my true self. It may seem weird, but hey, who doesn't like ice cream?

Without thinking, I dragged Vincent inside the shop.

"Hey! Veana! What are you doing?" He tried to protest but I didn't let him.

I ran through crowds of people and thankfully, I didn't get hit by any pedestrian, but it's unfortunate to my friend here who gets hit by everyone and everything he passes through.

I kept dragging him until we entered the little ice cream parlor.

It was simple, just like a cafe but different. It had pictures of friends on their walls and it had the atmosphere of 'be yourself '.

I kept grinning like a kid.
I knew I would love it here.

My eyes roamed around the store, still smiling, until my eyes landed on the puppy beside me.

He was smiling like an idiot...

...... staring at me.

My smile turned into a confused frown.

"Is there something on my face?" I asked him curiously.

He chuckled then turned away.
"You look like an idiot standing there." He commented.

"While grinning like a kid." He continued.

"Yah!--"

"Let's just order." He cut me off and went to the counter.

I followed, pouting and stomping my feet.

But that pout immediately changed into a grin when I saw the cashier.

She had pink highlights and was wearing a black, school-like dress. She looked younger than me and her aura gives a bright and bubbly atmosphere. She wore a large grin as she welcomed us.

"Welcome to Bry's Ice Cream Shop. What may be your order?" She asked politely.

I looked at the menu. There were so many flavors so it was hard to choose but I settled with chocolate, Vincent did too.

"Would you like that in seperate or would you rather try our couple cup? It's cheaper than the seperate ones."

My cheeks turned red as my eyes widened.

But I immediately opposed.

"Oh no, we're not a couple." I stated.

"Really?" She looked shock.

"I really thought you were, you guys suit each other well." She stated.

I blushed furiously. Never have I been linked with anyone before. I looked to my side to see him blushing as well, but he was good at hiding it though.

"Here's your ice cream."
She handed them to us then smiled.

"Thank you." She bowed.

I bowed as well.

After eating our ice cream, we were heading out, but I wanted to say bye to Brylie. She was the cashier that served us earlier.
She introduced herself as the daughter of the owner of this shop. She was very friendly and polite as well.

"Goodbye Brylie!" I waved my hand as we headed towards the exit.

"Bye unnie, oppa! Come back soon!" She waved back before entertaining the other customers.

"Why are you so nice to them and not to me?" He complained and pouted as soon as we walked out of the shop.

He looked like a real puppy.

And I got what he meant by 'them'. Bailey and Brylie.

"It's because they don't annoy me like you do." I answered bluntly.

He pouted even more.

I chuckled then ruffled his hair.

"Yah!" He complained.
He got mad at me for ruining his hair.

"Don't blame me, you looked like a puppy." I started laughing hard to the point where I fell on the ground.

I saw him smile in the corner of my eye, although I wasn't really sure because of my eye smile. He went near me, pulled me up and dragged me to the bus.

"Alright, enough is enough. Let's go home before I get into trouble, and trouble I mean mom."

I just nodded.
Even though I live alone, I remember the times when mom was always angry and worried sick whenever I came home late.
So I understand him.

It wasn't easy living alone, but I got used to it. The loneliness and sadness.

I sighed. So many thoughts were in my head.

I was thinking so deep that I didn't realize the heavy thing on my shoulder, until I turned around to see Vincent's head on my shoulder. He was sleeping, must've been tired. I couldn't blame him. School is a lot of pressure and we have got a lot of things to do, especially me, who's trying stay in top 1. So it was really a lot of pressure.

I stared at him and thought: My shoulder must've been softer than a pillow. And chuckled to myself.

Then I noticed his features, nose, eyes, hair, lips. I chuckled. He really does look like a puppy.

I smiled to myself.

Maybe it's really not a bad thing after all.

I shook all my worries out and drifted off to dreamland.
