cold wind caressed the soft hairs of the teenagers as they treaded through the dense forest. the camp were surrounded by walls of redwood trees, towering over the residents. with chilling arms, Kitta held against her nimble denim coat that hugged her arms and shivered;

" if it doesnt snow, ill be surprised "

she stated as she glared up to the cloudy sky that resided above the two. brown iris' changed their attention to the blueberry haired miss, and added mockingly;

" aww, poor baby cant take it, "
he laughed

with a gentle nudge she pushed him with her small hands lightly, grinning heavily from his playful words. it were like the Arctic out here, and she were right, it would be a great temperature for a snow storm. ghastly winds began to pick up as her hair no longer accompanied her neck but now the invisible hands of the gusts of wind that came in waves. a small fox stuck his snout in the small bush of berries, scavenging for any pieces of berries that it could feed itself with.
but in this world it was either kill or be killed. and luckily for the hunters, they had found their prey.

holding onto the bow with gentle hands, caution arose as he were quiet with his actions. a double glance occurred on the oculars of the girl as she furrowed her brows easily;

" you're not gonna kill that thing! look how innocent he is, " she whispered

with the roll of the eyes, Ryon readied his bow with the arrows he made for himself. on long nights of insomnia, he would normally be at work with new arrows and repairing any weapon that needed it. but it were usually arrows.

with the raise of the arm, he made his elbow extend as his left hand plucked the string like an instrument. trying to lower his heart rate, he exhaled, almost heavier than the wind for just a second. wild eyes paired with the arrow that sat against the bow, and a sudden hand came up to the spiked tip;

" Ryon, im serious! dont hurt him, " quietly she pleaded

lowering the wooden weapon, he glared at her with great annoyance before creating his rhetorical question;

" do you want to starve? "

" no, but--- "

" then let me get us some food, "
stating finally, and ending the conversation.

with quiet eyes she turned and looked away, covering her face with her ice-cold hands that were meant to be held. while Ryon's hands were placed at the string and handle of the bow. narrowing his eyes by almost completely shutting them, he let go of the arrow and struck the animal with a heavy blow to the neck.

thin arms flinched by the cry of the stricken animal, and lowered her hands from her complexion. the girl never fancied herself too much to feeling an animals soul leave the air. for reasons at which grew too familiar when she were just a child. triumphantly grinning, Ryon glanced to her and walked past her. one thing that he did like about himself, is that hunting was something he found himself actually good at.

dark, blue locks frolicked in the wind singularly as she stood quietly by herself while Ryon was at the fox. it were the circle of life, and no matter how far she tried to push herself to that realization, she just couldn't. after holding onto her nimble arms, sudden winds began to fuel themselves with the coldest of flakes. heavy snowfall rained down on them as Ryon were just now beginning to gut the animal. bloodied hands paused as they reeked of hunger and victorious ways, glancing over to the girl that still paired her eyes with the feet at which were planted below her. murderous cries of these flakes never seized to calm down. with every breath that the humans took, the winds only grew angrier as their elements began to push Ryon further away from his companion. gripping his converse to the thick snow like super glue, he wiped remaining blood from his hand onto the thighs of his pants. making a megaphone formation with his hands, he opened his mouth to carve out the title of his friend;

" Kitta! Just stay right there! I'm trying to hurry to reach you, " saying loud enough to where he made sure she could hear over the ghastly winds.

coal iris' flared with worry as she tried to make her way toward him as well. she didn't enjoy the cold all too much, but who did? drawn out fingers attempted to make simple contact with her lanky appendages as well. suddenly their tips touched, holding onto both of eachothers hands as he quickly pulled her frame toward his. wrapping his arm around her shoulder, she treaded safely against his torso as her freezing hands gripped onto his chest as if he were her last source of security.

momentarily, an abundance of cold feet treaded the thick icelands until they reached an unfamiliar cabin that was far from flawless. the porch was unhinged, with missing planks scattered upon the deck. the dark, oak fences were broken, and chipped, as if there were a reckless shooting; not to mention the missing doorknob to the door.

but it were shelter.
and that's all that really mattered to them.

grasping onto the hole that used to supply the doorknob, the boy swung it open; or at least tried to. it were a battle between man and nature, between culture and elements, between reality and dreams. quickly they both slipped into the warmer surroundings, as the heavy, wooden door closed shut behind them.

Ryon let go of Kitta, until she exposed her appendages to only reveal the frostnip that were surrounding her precious skin.

a sense of worry corrupted his abdomen as he felt slight
purposeless-ness in his action to abandon his friend for just a portion of meat from such a small game. he hated his choices because if she didnt tag along, then this wouldnt be happening.

because maybe this damned Celsius wouldnt be forcing itself into his chambers of this adoration of a girl.
