7. Sorry

It's been a few days since Lucky told Emily that he and Hayden kissed. He plans on apologising to her again today in school... If she chooses to show up.

Lucky approaches the gate and meets Hayden. They both walk and talk into lesson.

"Hey, have you heard from Emily?" Hayden asks.

"No, I haven't. I hope she's okay." Lucky replies.

"Me too..."

The school bell rings and still, no sign of Emily showing up. During English class, Lucky gets a text. He haltingly takes out his phone and checks the text he received. It's from Emily.

Emily:
[Hey Luck... Sorry I'm not at school today, I'm just really upset about what happened between you and Hayden...]

Lucky is relieved that he has finally heard from her and replies back to her text.

Lucky:
[You have no idea how happy I am to hear from you. I'm so so sorry for hurting you, as I said before: it was just in the moment! If you give me a chance, I'll apologise to you face to face.]

Emily:
[Okay. Meet me at my house after you finish school. I'll be there. Please don't bring Hayden, I want us to have a private talk!]

Lucky:
[Alright. See you then, I gotta go because I'm in English.]

It's the end of the day and he goes to meet her. It usually takes Lucky about 20 minutes to get to Emily's house walking from school but he does it without hesitation to make things right. He finally reaches her house and before he goes to knock, Emily's mom suddenly opens the door.

"Lucky... I don't think you should be here." She tells him.

"Hey Mrs Fields... Emily called me and asked me to come. She's expecting me!" He explains to her.

"Oh right then, come in. I'll go get Em for you." As she says while welcoming him in.

"EMILY! Lucky is here to see you! Come down stairs!" Emily's mom yells.

"COMING!!" Emily shouts back.

She hurriedly walks down the stairs, seeming happy to see Lucky after what's happened.

"Hey!" She says and gives him a hug.

"Hey, how have you been?" He asks kindly.

"Mmmm... To be honest... Not so well, but I'm happy to see you because I want to tell you that I forgive you for what you did." Emily confesses.

"Wait, really?" Lucky questions with confusion. "I thought it'd take more time to gain your trust again..."

"No. It's fine, I just really missed you!"

"Well then... That's good, thank you for forgiving me. It won't happen again, I promise. "I love you." He tells her, looking in her eyes.

"I love you too..." She replies and slowly kisses his lips.

"Oh yeah! And Hayden also says sorry for what she did." He adds in.

"Hayden?! Don't worry about her, she's still my best friend. She didn't do anything wrong!" Emily laughs.

"Yeah... You're right... Anyway I think I better get going. We have school tomorrow and I don't want to be late for our drumming lesson. I'll see you tomorrow."

Lucky leaves Emily's house and walks back home.
