13. Plans

Today is Friday. The last day of the semester. Lucky wakes up with a thrilled smile on this face.

"Last day! Woo!" He says in excitement.

He hops out of bed, gets dressed, and heads down into the kitchen to eat breakfast.

"Morning, Mom! I hope you have a lovely day today."

"Aw, you too, Luck. I hope you have a good last day!" She replies with a huge proud smile.

"Me too. Love you! See you after school!" He hollers at her and leaves the house.

Lucky drives to school.

Minutes later, and he arrives. The first person he wants to see is Emily. He walks through the gate and sees her on her phone, looking not so happy... He approaches her slowly, and asks her what's up.

"Hey Em, is everything okay? You don't look happy." He says.

"Umm. Y-yeah. Everything's okay." She tells him and puts her phone away. "C'mon let's go find Hayden."

"Okay the-."

Emily walks away before Lucky could even finish his sentence but follows her.

"Found her!" Emily claims. "There she is talking to Mr Lahey."

Hayden comes over to them as soon as the teacher finished talking to her.

"Hey guys, what's up?" She asks.

"Not much. Just waiting for you." Lucky replies.

The conversation died seconds after it started. The three stare at each other awkwardly for a decent amount of time.

"So..." Emily breaks the silence. "I need to ask you both something..."

"Go ahead." Hayden and Lucky speak over each other, unexpectedly.

Lucky chuckles.

"Okay. So. I'm going to Bora Bora over semester break, and my mom says I can take at least 3 friends. I was thinking of asking you two and my other friend Jai if you would like to come with us...?"

Hayden and Lucky struggle to hold in their excitement before they burst.

"We would love to go with you, Em! We're all best friends, don't be so shy when asking us questions." Says Hayden and smiles.

"You're right. Emily laughs, "I don't know why I was so nervous. Guess I was just afraid of being rejected." She whispers under her breath.

Just when she thought no one heard, Lucky looks at her curiously as to what she meant by saying 'being rejected.'

"Alright. When do we leave?" Lucky asks.

"Hmm... I'm not sure, I'll ask my mom and I'll text you the details."

The school bells rings for the end of the school semester. Lucky dashes out of his classroom, desperate to find Hayden and Emily.

"Hey guys! Wanna come over tonight?" He asks.

"Aw I would love to." Emily answers. "Would you, Hayden?"

"Yes of course!" Hayden yells. "What time, Luck?"

"Hmm... About 7 o'clock?"

"Sure. We'll be there."

"Guess I won't have to text you anymore, I can just tell you guys in person when we leave, after I ask my mom." Emily chuckles.

"Yeah." Hayden agrees.

The three go home separately, and Lucky is more happier than he's ever been. He arrives home and the first thing he does is go to his bedroom and lies down and thinks for a minute.

What if I hadn't met Emily and Hayden?

Would my life still be the same?

What's gonna happen next year?

Will everything be the same?

More thoughts like this kept on entering his head, non-stop. Killing his mood.

It's 7 o'clock already and Lucky completely forgets that Emily and Hayden are coming over to hang out. He hurriedly walks downstairs and into the living room to make it look like he's waiting for them maturely.

Seconds later, he hears knocking on his door. He walks towards the door and opens it.

"Hey guys, come in." He says.

"Thank you, Luck." Emily smiles and gives him a kiss.

Lucky smiles back and leads them into his room.

"This is my room." He tells them. "Of course Emily already knows." He coughs and then smirks.

"Mhmm... Yep. That's sacred ground." As she points to his bed and laughs.

"Okay, guys don't talk about that." Hayden laughs with Emily.

They all sit on Lucky's bed and start talking about the holiday they're about to go on. They're excited.

Emily suddenly receives a text from her mom.

Emily's Mom:
[Okay, so we're leaving on Saturday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon! Make sure to tell your friends .X]

"So I asked my mom when we're leaving, guys!" Emily says. "We're leaving on Saturday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, so make sure you're packed before then!"
