"Can I just get a large coffee please, black." His voice sent shivers down my spine, he speaks with comfidence something that seems like arrogance.
"That'll be three dollars, and a name for the order?" My voice was shaky already from being under his intimidating gaze. I must seem like a fool.
"Alex, but maybe you'd like my number instead, my dear." He had the cheekiest expression splattered across his face when he said it.
I blushed and immediately looked away. He handed me the money and I told Eleanor his order, she whispered to me that he was cute, as if I couldn't notice. He has to be at least six foot two, because he's definitely a bit taller than Mason. He stands so proudly, like he has absolutely no fear of anything. The way he says "my dear" gives me chills. I've never believed in love at first sight, and I still don't, its pretentious. However, I do believe in being attracted to someone the first time you meet. After handing him his coffee, he took a seat in one of the big, brown, leather chairs across the room from where I was standing. Making it quite hard to focus. Why am I acting like this. He sat there, drinking his coffee, checking his watch, and looking at me. I never once felt uncomfortable under his gaze, intimidated, yes, but never uncomfortable. A few other customers came and went and once he finished hit coffee he stood up, handed me a folded up piece of paper, then left. I opened the note.
"My Dear,
I would be ever so delighted if you would join me for lunch on the beautiful day. You pick the place and let me know?
-Alex"He wrote his number at the bottom of the paper, reading it made my smile grow bigger and bigger. Its not so much of a beautiful day, I mean its raining like its done for the past week. I can't get close to him, he's just like the rest, I don't need to do this again. It was definitely temptng, what would one date hurt? Might as well have some fun. I wanted until around lunch time, 11:30a.m., and I pulled out my phone.
"The coffee shop in let's say, thirty minutes? " Sent.
He responded seconds later.
"Its a date, darling."
