I laughed even harder at her expression.

We seemed to be sharing a pleasant moment in a most un-pleasant evening when Ron’s girlish high pitched screams came ringing down the hall. He came sprinting back around the corner with a terrified look on his face.

“DRACO”S SET THE WHOLE BLOODY PLACE ON FIRE!” Ron quickly yelled to us, grabbing only Hermione and running off in the opposite direction. A sudden burst of combustion behind us confirmed Draco had lit the whole bloody place up. I whipped around to see the flames moving closer and closer to where we stood. My heart started to pound against my ribs, threatening to jump out.

“Harry,” I swallowed, ”We need to move--”

Suddenly the flames exploded around the corner, engulfing the objects surrounding. Harry and I both were startled back but stopped as the fire started to take form.

Slowly, out of the mass of flames, a long slender body pulled itself out. A snake.  How fitting.. It stared down at us, like a cat eying its kill. Then, it pounced.

“Harry, we need to go RIGHT NOW!” I screamed as flames ignited at our heels. We spun around and raced off, following in Ron and Hermione’s path. I thought they were long gone before happened upon them in a dead end.

Superfy!” Hermione called out at our presence. Surprised, I was able to deflect it but my lateness about it still knocked the wind out of me.

“Thanks.” I coughed, trying to get the air back into my lungs.

‘Sorry!”Hermione squeaked back, clutching Ron’s hand. “Thought you were someone else.”

Off in the distance, a boom echoed with the sizzle of burning memories. The dark nook of the maze we stood in suddenly got brighter. The fire was getting closer. Harry noticed it as well and began to shovel through the walls of objects. Ron, deciding to finally unfreeze, released his hand from Hermione’s and shuffled over to Harry’s side to help.

Another deep boom of fire roared, glowing a yellow light over our pale faces. Hermione shrieked at this and began frantically looking around herself.

“Here!” Harry yelled over to us. Moving closer, I could see a stack of old, discarded broomsticks. Harry quickly handed one to each of us, then armed himself with one. I looked mine over, it had just as many dents and cracks as my grandmother.

“Julie, come on!”Hermione called to me. Looking back up, they Harry, Ron and Hermione had already mounted their brooms.

“Right.” I replied and gently mounted my broom. Swiftly pushing off the ground, we flew

The heat of the wild fire was intense, even when we were flying over it. We had circled back around towards to door, and now were surveying the flames.

“The doors are just over there!” Hermione yelled over the roar, pointing off towards the far right of the room. We increased our speed nearing the exit, when I heard the one voice I would never mistake.

(Sorry for the lateness! Part 2 of Part 2 *Hahahaha* out soon)
