Dreams and Memories

A small girl hummed happily as she strolled down her stairs, a large, puffy sweater, blue with two purple stripes running across it, was hanging loosely off her chest. The sleeves themselves covered her hands, and she happily let them hang free, instead of rolling them up.

Once she was down the stairs, she strolled into the kitchen. It was a shabby place, with old furniture from the 60's, like a yellow fridge, and molding cabinets. Come to think of it, most of her house was like this.

She lived in a run down house, with a rundown mother. It wasn't the best life, but she tried to make the best of things... That was until she stopped speaking.

She had no reason to, other than the lesson of 'Don't speak unless spoken to!' which was constantly yelled at her. She had a perfectly working voice, even if she didn't like the sound of it.

She shrugged with a small smile. Sign language is good, it was easy to learn, doesn't make her throat scratchy, and is a lot simpler than english.

Still with a smile on her face, she reached for a pad of paper and a pen. Quickly, she scribbled something down, taped it to the fridge, and made her way towards the door.

She was leaving, and not coming back.

Her mother did not take kindly to her lack of talking, and hated her using sign language all the more. She didn't want to learn it, and she didn't know how her kid had learned it.

Mother...

Throughout all this, the girl would not say she disliked her other... But, she did in fact hate the way her mother dressed, all the makeup she tended to use...

She especially hated the men her mother brought home.

The little girl had a daddy, didn't she? Weren't mommies and daddies supposed to love each other? So why was mommy with other men?

The young girl shook her head. That didn't matter anymore, she wasn't going back home!

Where she was going... Was to Mount Ebott.

The place where nobody had ever returned from. She heard the rumors, the rumors of disappearing children. She also knew of the legends, that humanity once fought in a war against... Something.

Those things lost, and were forced to live in the mountain, never to return to the upper worlds again.

As the young girl stopped to pick up a nearby stick, she frowned. How sad would she be if she was never to see the sun again? What would it be like?

She felt angry, and sad for those who were trapped in the mountain... Maybe she would free them?

Yes. She decided it now...

She would free them!

She huffed and puffed, but still had a smile at seeing the top of the mountain come into view... And, a cave? Was this the entrance to the underground? Was this where the trapped souls lived?

She got closer to investigate, but ended up stumbling on some type of root, or maybe a rock. It was like Alice in Wonderland, falling deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole.

Then suddenly, she was in a bed of golden flowers.

"Howdy Friend! I'm Flowey the Flower! A monster!" A voice chirped.

The girl cracked an eye open, seeing a flower.

A flower? With a face?

"You're new to the underground, aren't 'cha? Well, someone's gonna' have to teach you how things work down here!" The flower squeaked, looking around. "I guess little ol' me will have to do!"

Small white dots surrounded the talking plant. "Down here, we share LV through these little white... Friendliness pellets! Whats LV? Well, it's love of course!" It smiled. "Try and collect as many as you can!"

The child reached out to grab one of the 'pellets', and immediately retracted as a singing pain jolted up her arm.

"You idiot."

Just then, it's voice grew sinister, cold.

"Down here, friend... It's kill or be killed!"

---Super serious line break---

Frisk cracked open her crusty eyelids, rubbing at them slowly as she sat up. Just as her mind was coming back to consciousness, she realized just how cold it was!

She shivered and rubbed her arms slowly, trying to get a grip on some heat.

Two brown eyes zipped back and forth, taking a look of the room that held them captive. It was some kind of shed. A few puddles of oil sat in the corner, and across the hard cement floor. There were large bars in front of her... Bars that were too spaced apart to actually hold her in...

Was this a ail? Was it a monster jail or a human jail? Because surely, almost any human would be able to fit through those bars.

Maybe the one who built it didn't know how big humans were?

Frisk shrugged.

Then she realized she was missing the familiar weight of her backpack... And Flowey!

The skeleton - Sans - Must have taken it for her!

Frisk growled despite her usually silent nature... You could mess with her, but nobody hurt her friends!

Or, well, friend... She only had Flowey.

'Even more reason to go get i'm back!' Frisk told herself in her mind, standing up definitely.

Her back hurt... Her head hurt... Her knees, face, and fingers were all frozen stiff. But she knew she had to get up! She had to save Flowey.

But how could she? She didn't; want to hurt anyone... Not that she could, anyways. She wasn't very good at fighting.

Maybe they could become friends? It was a long-shot, but if Flowey had become her friends, then Sans could to, theoretically, right

With that thought, Frisk smiled and made her way towards the door. It was surprisingly... Unlocked.

Man, they didn't know much about keeping a human locked up, did they? Oh well, no need to complain, that just made Frisk's life all the easier.

The snow was now falling lightly, and it seemed a little bit warmer today. That i, if Frisk had been out of it for a whole day, which she suspected she was, considering the difference of the weather.

It was so much warmer today! Barely any snow!

A large smile was on Frisk's face as she stepped out into the town. There were a few monsters outside, but they didn't seem to notice her. A few shops were set up along the side of the town, and there was a cute little Christmas tree in the middle... With not-so-cute bloody decorations on it.

So the young girl decided to ignore that, for now, at least... Hopefully she wouldn't have to get an closer to the that then she was now.

To the side closest to her, was a large house. It was built of red and black bricks, had a simple black front door, and a few Christmas light every so often. There was a flag at the top of the house... With a skull and crossbones on it.

A pirate flag? What is that doing there? Frisk wondered, before an imaginary light bulb went off above her head.

Skeletons!

Didn't Sans mention something about a brother? That must be their house...

And the place that they have Flowey!
